Rachel began singing at the age of eight when she was encouraged by the choir mistress to join the school choir. Although never having any formal training, she has since performed in various choirs and musicals. One recent choral performance being with the Wollongong Theatre Ensemble backing Michael Crawford at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre in February 2000.

Rachel’s most recent lead theatrical performance was as Laurey in Oklahoma! She has enjoyed performing in local theatre companies both as part of the singing ensemble and also playing small cameo roles in such productions as South Pacific (1999), The Mikado (1999), A Chorus Line (2000), Les Miserables (2001) and Sweet Charity (2002).

Rachel has also had some fabulous experiences conducting choirs of many and varied sizes from thirty to six hundred Primary School aged children for events such as the Regional Catholic Schools Music Festival and other combined school performances.

She has a love of classic old movies that, with their musical themes, inspired in her a great appreciation for Jazz Music. She has performed with various local Jazz groups as lead vocalist.
