DESIRE

Dream landscapes in bitter winter draped,
ice prearled and moonlight shadowed.
Echo crisp, the untaken snow
lays volumptuous in chaste night,
invites plunder beneath unclad trees.
The Dreamer waits, all watching,
shadow among shadows, shinning eyes
mirror to a hooded sky's twinkle.

Beyond wimple white, a translucent
sanctuary of dreams, enigma in hushed night,
tremble, transfigure the dreamspun landscape,
and beckon the clandestine Dreamer on,
glittering, pearlit mounds to cross,
each heart throb step penetrates,
violates, the brittle, yielding crust
of vain and illusive desire.
