Animal Pillows

Bear, Pig and Cat Pillow.
Measure 10" across not including arms, legs and ears.
Gauge: 3 dc = 1"; 3 dc rows = 2"
Materials for Bear : 5oz off white and 1 oz brown worsted weight yarn
Two 20mm wiggly eyes, one 25 mm animal nose with washer, 18" yellow 3/8" satin ribbon.
Fiberfill.
Crochet hook size I.

Bear
Instructions : (make 2) : Note that ch 3 at beg. of each rnd counts as first stitch.
Rnd 1: With off-white, ch 4, 11 dc in 4 th ch from hook, join with sl st in top of ch 3 (12 dc).
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in ech st around, join with sl st in top of ch 3 (24).
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) around, join (36).
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, (dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st) around, join (48).
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, (dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st) around, join (60).
Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st) around, join (72).
Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st ) around join (84).
Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc in next st) around, join (96).
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in first 7 sts, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st) around, join, fasten off (108).
Holding wrong sides of body together and matching sts. work sc in each stitch, stuffing as you go.
ARM : (make 2).
Note : For remainder of pattern, do not join rnds unless stated.
Rnd 1: With brown, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hood (6 sc).
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: ( Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around (18).
Rnd 4: Sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
Rnd 5: Join off white with sc in first st, sc in each st around, do not join.
Rnds 6 - 12: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 13: (Sc in next 7 sts, sc in next 2 sts tog) around (16).
Rnd 14: (Sc in next 6 sts, sc next 2 sts tog) around, join with sl st in first sc, leaving 10" for sewing. Fasten off and stuff.Flatten last rnd on Arms and sew to each side of Body.
LEGS :(make 2)
Rnds 1 - 3: Rep. same rnds of Arm.
Rnd 4: (Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st ) around (24).
Rnds 5 - 6: Rep rnds 4 and 5 of Arm.
Rnds 7 - 16: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 17 : (Sc in next 10 sts, sc next 2 sts tog ) around (22).
Rnd 18: (Sc in next 9 sts, sc next 2 sts tog) around, join with sl st in first sc, leaving 10" length for sewing, fasten off and stuff. Flatten last rnd of Legs and sew to bottom of Body 2" apart.
EAR :(make 2): Rnds 1 - 3: With off-white, rep same rnds of Arm.
Rnds 4 - 7: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 8: (Sc next 2 sts tog) around, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off. Flatten Ears and sew to top of Body 3" apart.
MUZZLE : Rnd 1: With off-white, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6sc).
Rnd 2: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around (9).
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around to last st, sc in last st(13).
Rnd 4: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 5: Sc in each of next 3 sts, (sc next 2 sts tog, sc in each of next 3 sts) around, join with sl st in first sc, leaving 10" for sewing, fasten off (11).
Attach Nose to center of Muzzle and sew Muzzle to rnds 1-4 of Body as shown in photo, stuffing first.
Glue eyes 1/2" apart above Muzzle. With brown, using Straight Stitch, embroider a mouth on Muzzle and tie ribbon into a bow and glue beneath Muzzle.
Pig
Materials : same as for Bear, but with Pink worsted weight yarn.
With Pink, work same as Bear's Body side, Arms and Leg
EAR : Row 1: With Pink, ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn (3 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across with 2 sc in last st, turn (5).
Rows 4 - 5: Repeat rows 2 and 3, ending with 7 sts in last row.
Finish off as for Bear.
SNOUT: Rnd 1: Ch 5, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 2 chs, 3 sc in last ch; working on opposite side of starting ch, sc in each of next 2 chs, join with sl st in first sc (10sc).
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each of first 3 sts, sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, sc in each of next 2 sts, join (16).
Rnd 3: Working this rnd in back lps, ch 1, sc in each st aroung, join.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join leaving 10" length for sewing, fasten off.
With black using a French Knot, embroider nostrils over rnd 1. Sew Snout over rnds 1 - 3 of Body, stuffing before closing. Finish off as for Bear.
Cat
Materials : yellow worsted weight yarn and same as for Bear.
Work same Arm and Leg as for Bear and same Ear as for Pig.
Nose : Row 1: With yellow, ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn.(3 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across with 2 sc in last st, turn(5).
Rnd 4: Finish off as for Bear. With Brown using straight sts, embroider whiskers and mouth as shown.
