Small 1/2" button
Kitchen towel cut in two equal pieces and zig-zagged on raw edges.
With hook size 6 work 106 sc evenly spaced ( approx. 1/8" apart ) loosely across edge of zig-zagged towel, turn and change to hook size I.
Row 1: Ch 3, tr in next 10 sc, * ch 1, sk 1 sc, tr in next 11 sc ) rep from * to end, turn. ( 99 tr, 8 ch 1 sps ).
Row 2: Sl st into first st and around leg of next tr, ch 3, back post treble ( bpt ) in next 8 tr, * ch 1, ( sk next tr, ch 1 and next tr ), bpt in next 9 tr * rep from * to end, turn. ( 99 bpt, 8 ch 1 sps ).
Row 3: Sl st into first st and sl st around back of leg of next bpt, ch 3, front post treble ( fpt ) in next 6 bpt, * ch 1, ( sk next bpt, ch 1 and next bpt ), fpt in next 7 bpt *, rep from * to end, turn.
( 63 fpt, 8 ch 1 sps ).
Row 4-6: Rep Rnd 3 having 2 less bpt/fpt in each group. At end of Row 6 ( 9 bpt, 8 ch 1 sps ). Turn work.
HANGER
Row 7: Ch 3, tr in each of next 9 bpt, turn.
Rows 8-18: Rep Row 8.
Row 19: ( buttonhole ): Ch 3, tr in next 2 tr, ch 3, sk 3 tr, 3 tr in last 3 tr, turn.
Row 20: Ch 3, tr in first 2 tr and in each of next ch 3, tr in last 3 tr. Fasten off.
EDGING:
Holding towel side ways with front facing, sl st in first sc of Row 1, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in end of tr rows and tr, around, with 2 sc in both corners at top of Hanger. ( 100 sc ). Turn.
Sl st in first 2 sc, sc in next sc, ( 2 dc, sc ) in same st * sk 2 sc, ( sc, 2 dc, sc ) in next sc * rep from * ending with sl st in last 2 sc. Fasten off. Sew button in place.
