VICTORIAN DOLL'S DRESS

Red Heart 4 ply yarn - 5 ozs Green for dress
Size 5 crochet thread 1 ( 50 gr ) ball of White for trim.
Crochet hooks in size E and H
4 snap fasteners
1 yard green satin ribbon 1/4" wide
Approx. 18" tall.

TOP SECTION: This is worked without side seams, with opening in front. With larger hook and Green, ch 32.
( waistline ).
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn. ( 32 sc ).
Row 2: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn at end of each row.
Rows 3-4: Rep Row 2.
Next Row: ( to divide work ): Sc across first 8 sc for first half of front, ch 1, turn. ( do NOT work rem sts ).
First Half of Front: Work even on these 8 sc for 7 more rows, end at centre front edge, ch 1, turn.
To Shape Neck and Shoulder: Sl st in each of first 4 sts, sc in each of rem 4 sts, ch 1, turn. Work even on these 4 sc only for 1 more row. Fasten off.
Second Half of Front: Sk centre 15 sts for back and with Green, sc in each of next 8 rem sts, ch 1, turn. Complete to correspond with First Half of Front, reversing shaping.
BACK: With Green, sc across centre 15 sts, ch 1, turn.
Next Row: ( dec row ): Dec 1 sc at beg of row, sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc over next 2 sc. ( 13 sc remains ). Work evenly on these 13 sc only for 7 more rows, ch 1, turn.
To Shape Shoulders and Neck: Sc in each of first 4 sc, ch 1, turn. Work evenly on these 4 sc only for 1 more row ( first shoulder made ). Fasten off. Sk centre sts, work last 4 sts to correspond for Second Shoulder.
SLEEVES: ( make 2 ): Sleeves are worked in rounds. Starting at top edge and with larger hook and Green, ch 20; join with sl st in first ch to form a circle.
Rnd 1: ( inc rnd ): Mark joining st for Underarm. Ch 1, sc in joining st and in each of next 3 ch, work 2 dc in each of next 4 ch, work 2 tr in each of next 4 ch, work 2 dc in each of next 4 ch, sc in each of last 4 ch, join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: ( dec rnd ): Ch 1, sc in same st as joining st, sc in next st, draw up a lp in each of next 2 sts, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook ( 1 sc dec ); work ( sc in each of next 2 sts, dec 1 sc over next 2 sts ) around, join as before.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in joining st, sc in each of next 3 sts, dc in each st around to within last 4 sts, sc in each of last 4 sts, join.
Rnd 4-5: Rep Rnds 2 & 3.
Rnd 6: ( dec rnd ): Sc around as before and at same time dec evenly to 12 sc, join. Work even on 12 sc for 4 more Rnds.
Next Rnd: * Sc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2, hdc in same dc as last sc was worked into. Rep
from * around. Fasten off.
SKIRT: Skirt is worked without side seams and has a centre front seam. With larger hook and Green, ch 31 for entire waistline.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 3 for first dc of next row, turn.
( 30 sc ).
Row 2: ( inc row ): Sk first sc, * dc in each of next 3 sc, work 2 dc in next sc ( inc made ), rep from * across, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in each dc across, sc in top of ch 3, ch 3, turn.
Rows 4-11: Rep Rows 2 & 3 four more times.
Rows 12-24: Working 1 row of dc and 1 row of sc alternately, work even ending with a dc row.
Row 25: * Sc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2, hdc in same dc as last sc was worked into. Rep from *
across;  leaving a length for sewing, fasten off. Skirt should measure approx. 9" in length.
ASSEMBLY: Sew both shoulder seams then sew sleeves into armholes. On skirt, starting at lower edge, sew front seam, leaving last inch open. Pin waistline edges of skirt and top section together and sew in place.
EDGING: With Green and larger hook, sc across side edge of opening, work 3 sc in corner, sc around entire neck edge, 3 sc in corner, then sc across other side of edge of opening. Fasten off. Working around neck edge only, rep last row of skirt. Fasten off. Sew snaps along both edges of front opening.
LACE FOR NECK: With White and hook size E, crochet a ch long enough to fit around base of last row across neck edge.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in first sc, * in next sc work ( sc, ch 3, sc, ch 5, sc, ch 3, sc ) sc in each of next 3 sc, rep from  * across. Fasten off.
LACE FOR SLEEVE: With White and size E hook, crochet a ch to fit around base of last row of sleeve. Rep Rows 1 and 2 of Neck Trim. With White, sew row 1 each length of lace in place.
BEADING FOR WAISTLINE: With White and size E hook, for lower edge of beading * ch 4, sc in 3rd ch from hook for picot. Rep from * until piece fits around waistline of dress then continue for top edge as follows: ch 5, sc in 3rd ch from hook for first picot of top edge, ** sk picot below and work 1 hdc in ch 1 between picots of lower edge, ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook for next picot. Rep from ** across lower edge, ending with hdc in last ch. Fasten off. Weave ribbon through beading row.
