Tree form and bottom ruffle:

Finishing: Place crochet tree ( without separate top ruffle ) on plastic covered 9" tall cone. Cut off remaining base of plastic covered cone. Allow to dry a little before shaping. Pinch and pull bottom ruffle, shaping into branches; pin to foam base. Shape remaining ruffles. For top ruffle, insert a small piece of crumpled plastic wrap into centre of top ruffle. Place top ruffle on top of tree, shape and pin ruffle to cone.
To make shaping form for tree truck, cut off 1/2" at top of 3" tall cone ( Fig. 9 ) and discard top piece; cover remaining piece with plastic wrap. Place cone inside centre of trunk and with trunk upside down, pin tree base to foam base ( Fig 10 ). For support, glue crochet tree base to 6" square of poster board, trim board even with outer edge of crochet tree base. Glue tree onto tree base and glue top ruffle onto top of tree. Glue or sew beads to edges of ruffles and glue gold bead to center of star. For support, glue crochet tree base to 6" square poster board and trim outer edge of board even with crochet base of tree. Glue tree onto tree base; glue top ruffle onto top of tree; glue star at top of tree. Glue small bead to centre of star.
