17th December, 2004.

The Cow-orker has found a purpose. Marketing have found a use for her crazed energy and unleashed her on an unsuspecting world.

She enters my section to make sure that the network printers are cleared and that her incoming print job will have top priority. Nothing must interfere. "Because it's really, really important that this stuff goes out before the end of the year," she warns us (with the Christmas break looming, our "end of the year" is only five working days away, so it's good to see that Marketing didn't leave things to the last minute or anything). "I've been working at this all morning to make sure we're ready to start running these off this afternoon."

Drama builds. Tension mounts. Animals seek the safety of the mountains.

And the print job comes through, uninterrupted and flowing smoothly off the black and white laser printer.

Christmas cards.

"Noooo! Why are these all printing out on both sides? Who changed the printer settings?"

"You sent them all the double-sided printer."

"But how was I supposed to know?"

"Because it's the one named Doublesided on the network and it's the same one that you used when you were still working in this section three weeks ago?"
