The word "Esbat" refers to the ritualistic celebration of the phases of the Moon. Many covens and solitary witches celebrate only the Full Moon as an Esbat. However, WildWood celebrates both Full Moons and New Moons. During these celebrations we thank the Moon Goddess for watching over our day-to-day activities and often make wishes. A wish made on the New Moon will usually come into fruition by the following New Moon. Similarly, Esbats are a great time for a group of Witches to come together to discuss many topics such as our lives, our path and to divine our future. |
