From Outer Court Member to Initiate 3x3:
Outer Court As mentioned on the homepage, the Outer Court is split into two categories: Aspirants and Members of the Outer Court. When a person first attends a WildWood circle, they become a Member of the Outer Court group (a short welcoming ceremony is performed). Everyone in the Outer Court has three options. Option A: remain an Outer Court member. Option B: become a "Wild Child" or Witch/Child of the WildWood. Option C: Become an Aspirant and Aspire to the Inner Court. If a Witch decides that he/she wishes to become an Inner Court member, they must ASK the Inner Court (you need only ask one of us) to be accepted as an Aspirant (everyone who wishes to be an Aspirant will be accepted). If you are considering becoming an Aspirant please read the note at the bottom of this page. Then at the next circle, the Inner Court will officially accept the Witch and present them as an Aspirant to the gathering. Once the Witch is an Aspirant, they are required to consecutively attend 10 Circles with WildWood (Esbat, Study, Sabbat, Fun etc.). If an Aspirant has a valid or approved reason for missing a Circle this will be allowed, and their count will be paused. However, if the Aspirant does not have a valid reason for missing a Circle, their 10 Circle count will be restarted to 0. The Aspiration period is to prove that the Aspirant is dedicated enough to the Coven to become a Dedicant. On top of attending all Circles, Aspirants are expected to actively participate in circle by performing a number of duties (e.g. smudging, asperging, calling etc.). Inner Court Once an Aspirant has attended the 10 Circles, the Inner Court convenes. During the Inner Court convening process, the Patron Gods and Goddesses of WildWood are consulted, and many differing forms of divination are employed to predict the outcomes. Lastly, the Inner Court discusses the Witch and assuming that they unanimously decide that it is in the interest of the Coven to dedicate the Witch, they will dedicate him/her at the next Sabbat (in the event that this is a Lesser Sabbat, the Outer Court, bar the Aspirant to be dedicated, will not be invited). Dedicants are expected to attend all Circles, and assist by writing rituals, calling quarters, casting circle etc. Half a wheel (6 months ish) after Dedication, Priest/Priestess of WildWood training will be offered. The Dedicant can accept or deny the invitation at any time. On the 1st anniversary of a Witch's Dedication, the Witch may elect (after successfully completing Priest/Priestess of WildWood training) to be Initiated into WildWood. Initiates have the right to be referred to as Priest or Priestess and introduce themselves as a Priest/Priestess of WildWood.
Please read on if you are considering becoming an Aspirant: -Becoming a member of the Inner Court is not for
everyone. It is important to understand that the Inner Court is a place where
the Greater Mysteries are known and a place where a LOT of organisational stuff
happens. |
