About Us
To acquire business enterprise skills, develop a successful business with profitable return to our shareholders, create a product that is practical and unique, and to benefit the children in our community by donating a percentage of profits to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Founded in late April, YAZZ is a small student run company formed through the Young Achievement Australia program. Presently, the company consists of 13 tertiary students, of which are derived from the various campuses of Monash and La Trobe University. Also contributing to the company are their sponsors, the Monash City Council and supporters, the Small Business Counselling Service.
The primary sponsor of YAZZ is the Monash City Council. In supporting YAZZ, the council have kindly taken time out of their busy schedules to assist and guide YAZZ into being one of the best YAA companies they can be. In addition to our sponsorship from the council, YAZZ are also supported by the Small Business Counselling Service. The SBCS have provided YAZZ with professional business mentors in a variety of specialised areas to direct us through this practical exercise, learning about, and overcoming, many of the obstacles faced by small business operators. The YAA program is an active learning environment, bringing together individuals to form a strong, goal-focussed, and cohesive team, and giving them the skills needed to succeed in business.
For more information about the council, visit their website at www.monash.vic.gov.au or for information regarding the type of services the SBCS offer, visit their website at www.sbcs.org.au.
