The colour correspondences chart can be used to select the appropriate coloured candle for the spell you intend doing. The Planetary Rulership of hours chart can be used to select the appropriate time for your spell. Select the Waxing Moon for attraction spells and the Waning Moon for banishing spells.

How does it work?

As the candle burns it releases the correspondences you have embedded into it, to a dimension where it fulfills the intentions you have directed it to. 

A candle is a wytch's tool, and as such needs to be consecrated. The general exorcism and consecration is ok. eg: (Place the candle on the altar pentacle and touch it with your Athame, wand, or forefinger, and say ; "I exorcise thee 'o' creature of 'fire' (or 'art' if it is an ornate figurine or a specific purpose candle) that thou be free from all evil and impurity. Wherefore do I bless and consecrate thee in the sacred names of Cernunnos and Aradia. (or Deity of your choice) So mote it be.") Next, have the person for whom the spell is intended, hold the candle and focus upon the purpose of the spell.(a contagious correspondence). Then your intentions are etched on the candle, (with your white hilted knife of course) these can include signs or words that represent money, wisdom, a friend, a lover, employment, health, protection or even communicating with spirits, to banishing spells for severe disease and bad habits. The candle can also be personalized by etching sigils, planetary signs, names, runes or oghams onto it

Next, the candle must be "dressed", or anointed with an oil appropriate to the intention of the spell. To do this, dip your forefinger into the oil and touch the top of the candle and say "as above", then touch the bottom of the candle and say "so below". Using more oil if needed, starting at the centre of the candle, stroke your finger to the top. Lift your finger and return to the centre, repeat, rotating the candle until the top half has been coated. Invert the candle and repeat for the bottom half. As you do this, concentrate and focus your intentions into it or repeat an invocation you may have written earlier. Always include "with harm to none" in your spells. (Not only is it Karmic insurance, but you wouldn't want to be responsible for receiving money by an inheritance from a loved one.)

If you have written an invocation it can be wrapped around the bottom of the candle so it is the last thing to burn, and seals the spell. Then the candle is lit at the appropriate planetary time, and allowed to burn away, or for only an hour, extinguished, then re lit next day for an hour at the appropriate planetary time. Spells of attraction can be done on the waxing moon (approx 14 days from the New Moon till the Full Moon.) Spells of banishment can be done on the waning Moon, (approx 14 days from the Full Moon till the New Moon.)

Here is a simple candle spell to attract someone.  On a Friday (Venus' day) at sunrise (Venus' hour) take 2 red (Love, lust) candles, anointing oil (2 drops of Cinnamon oil, 1 drop of Lemon oil, and 3 drops of Ylang Ylang oil, in about 8-10 ml of carrier oil.) Consecrate both candles. Then etch 1 candle with a heart, the name of the person and their birth sign or something to personalize it. Anoint and light both candles. (One for your spell and one for "Venus" Goddess of love.) Recite your invocation several times as the flames become established. eg: As these candles burn away I invoke thee "Venus" to bring to me my hearts desire, with harm to none and love to all. So mote it be! Then let the candles burn all the way down. This may take 7-8 hours so put them in a safe place, inside your cauldron or on a dinner plate, away from curtains etc.

There is karmic return for influencing someone against their will, so it's wise to include the phrase ' with harm to none', in all your spells.

Never blow out a candle, it's disrespectful and pisses off the elementals. Use a snuffer, pinch the flame with wet fingers, or clap with cupped hands just above the flame.
