Swishhhh swisshhh! Damn I wish I was Spider-Man.
I was never a big fan of comic books and I didn't really have any affinity for any of the superheroes either. For me, the Spider-Man movie was going where I had never gone before, and I loved it.
Some people I've talked to thought that it was ruined by the smoochy tender scenes. As to why adding Kirsten Dunst to a movie can ever be a bad thing I can only guess. Really, the emotional and human relationship aspect of the story is the most important aspect of Spider-Man. With great power comes great responsibility, and the weight of Spider-Man's responsibility is immense. The way it ends in the cemetary is a strange mix of sadness and pride, a noble sacrifice that you ttally wish that he did not have to make, even though the logic behind it is irrefutable. This movie is not for your average spotty-faced comic book reader - it's better than that.
Why do I want to be Spider-Man? Shooting spider webs is so cool. Not to mention, I save the day AND get the girl. Basically this movie can't go wrong because it has enough chick-flick moments in it to keep the girls from walking out, and the rest of it is a male fantasy acted out with solidity and style.
