Note: Hire gear is extra unless otherwise stated. SSI SCUBA DISCOVERY PROGRAM Get your friends into diving! This course runs on a Saturday morning. We start at the shop for a short theory lesson then down to the pool where you can give Scuba Diving a go! This course is designed for people who are not sure if they can or even want to do a Scuba Diving course. No prior experience or diving medical is required. If you decide to enrol onto one of our courses outlined here, the full cost of the Scuba Discovery will be taken OFF the course. So, if you have friends who wish to give it a go, let them know. The Scuba Discovery sessions are run by one of our professional Scuba Instructors. Booking and payment for these sessions must be made at the shop prior to the start of the course. SSI OPEN WATER SCUBA DIVER COURSE At Blue Zone Scuba we offer both part time and full time Scuba Diving courses. The full time courses are over 4 consecutive days, usually Thursday to Sunday inclusive. Part time courses are over 2 weekends with the first weekend consisting of theory and pool sessions and the second weekend involving ocean dives. The ocean dives consist of either 2 shore dives and 2 boat dives normally on Ocean Cat or a fantastic weekend away on Moreton Island. As per SSI Training Agengy Standards, as part of your open water course you will receive a Open Water Manual, waterproof Dive Log Tables, a Open Water DVD, Log Book and weatherproof briefcase. These things will be yours TO KEEP at the end of the course. Course cost includes use of all scuba equipment, accomadation, barge fares, c-card and certification. SSI- SPECIALITY ADVANCED DIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Don't miss out on all the good dive sites we have to offer in and around Brisbane - Henderson's Rock, The Cementco, St Paul's and Night dives. This program is designed to give the diver more experience and training in various areas of diving such as DEEP, NIGHT, WRECK, DRIFT, MARINE ECOSYSTEMS AWARENESS and NAVIGATION under the watchful eyes of the Instructor and Divemaster. The program consists of FOUR specialties of your choice BUT MUST INCLUDE AT LEAST DEEP AND NIGHT. Learn how to deal and cope with being 'narked' or how to find your way around at night with your new navigation skills. This program can be done with any of our weekend options or day trips. Divers undertaking this course must be certified to 'open water' level. SSI NITROX COURSE. Blue Zone we will be running Nitrox courses and dives for anyone interested. The course basically takes one weekend with a theory session and two dives using Nitrox. Learn how to dive safely using various Nitrox mixes and how to analyse the oxygen percentage of the mixture. You will be allowed to use upto a 40% mixture and will learn how to use an oxygen analyser. Upon completion of the course you will be issued with a SSI Enriched Air Diver certification card and certificate. The course includes theory / two dives / use of oxygen analyser / oxygen and tanks. FIRST AID AND OXY RESUS COURSE Learn Senior First Aid, Oxygen Resuscitation and how to give medical attention to your fellow divers effectively. The Senior First Aid course is run over one weekend with the Oxygen Resuscitation course run separately. ALL NON DIVERS ARE WELCOME. This course could save lives. SSI STRESS & RESCUE DIVER COURSE "Do you feel confident that you could get yourself or your buddy out of a tight situation?" it definitely pays to do your Rescue Course. You will learn all the techniques required in becoming a Rescue Diver. The course runs over two weekends the first being theory and pool sessions with the second weekend consisting of a combination of shore and boat dives or a weekend on Moreton Island. Our Stress & Rescue Course offers First Aid and Oxy Resus as an integral part of this course and all divers must have completed the First Aid/Oxy Resus sections before certification can be given. SSI DIVECONTROLLER COURSE At Blue Zone Scuba we do not offer two weekend divecon courses. We do not believe you can become a divecon in two weekends. All our divecon's are well respected in the dive industry and most have been with us for many years. To become a divecon with us normally takes about 2 to 3 months depending on the amount of time you have to spare at weekends. At the end of your course you will know what it takes to become a first class divecon in all aspects of the diving industry including diving, retail, compressor, tour leading etc etc etc. To become a first class divecon your next step is to talk to Bob or Shane for further details and find out more about this fantastic course.
