Brad Gibson
Sailing has always been the sport in Brad's life from early childhood.
Brad's sailing career dates back to the early 1980's where he began in the Flying
Ant dinghy class on Botany Bay in Sydney's south. Over the next decade and a half he
skippered boats to considerable success in many classes including Cherubs, 14 and 18 foot
skiffs.
Early lessons learned through building boats with grandfather Len Riley, then rigging/tuning sails and spars to them with
sailmaker father Kerry set a platform to Brad's
sailing career.
Since the age of 12, Brad has also been actively involved in Radio
Controlled Yachts. Racing in Sydney's south, his first new yacht was an
East Coast 12 metre kit during the mid 80's. In late 1997 after much time taken
up with 18 foot skiff sailing, he returned and borrowed a mould and built his
first International One Metre. Not long after launching this boat, he knew with his
skiff/dinghy racing background he could design and build his own boats and sails
to be competitive with anything on the market.
With over 11 years of supplying radio yachting products and racing, Brad still enjoys
all levels of competition in this wonderful sport.
Victoria McNulty
Born in Birkenhead, Victoria has grown up within the model yachting scene in
the UK.
Summer holidays were always spent from an early age traveling with the family
across the country to vane sailing championships. Her first
yacht was a Stollery Choppa, a free sailing design that has seen dozens of kids
introduced to our sport over many years. Once old enough, Victoria then crewed
vane models with her father Bernie, until at the age 16 she decided to
take up radio sailing. An old "Bubbles 2" IOM design was built up and was raced
at club level.
In 2005 with her experience growing, Victoria set out to build a more
competitive boat so began building her Widget under the fantastic guidance of David Creed
and Martin Roberts. It is this boat that she still sails today and yes, the very
same boat that convinced Brad to build to the same design for Marseille after
borrowing it for the 2006 Croatian Nationals.
As a Mechanical Engineering graduate and daughter of one of the UK's top
manufacturer of Model Yacht fittings, Victoria brings a wealth of experience and
knowledge to bg sails and design
