Availability

In addition to business hours, Southern OHS Solutions can be available on weekends and evenings to provide consultancy work without additional penalty costs for out of business hours services (which may allow greater flexibility for you!).

Our Consultant

Mark is our principal consultant for Southern OHS Solutions and he has over 15 years experience in health and safety spanning Commonwealth and State based legislation with a range of OHS&W qualifications.

Mark is an accredited internal (public sector administration and healthcare) auditor and also has qualifications in Training & Assessment to be an accredited trainer (in fact Mark currently trains others to achieve this qualification through TAFE!). Mark is also contracted as a lecturer for TAFE allowing businesses the opportunity to receive training through South Australia's most respected education body.

Mark has built up a strong reputation through previous work experience and businesses that he has already assisted through Southern OHS Solutions and TAFE. This has been underlined by great feedback and return business. On top of this Mark has been highly sought after (particularly in Roxby Downs) by large mining and industry based companies and their contractors, through his TAFE SA role to provide nationally accredited safety training for them.

Mark's service strengths are within training/education as well as self insured environments, healthcare, mining/resources, administration, federal and state governments, business services, retail, evaluating/auditing, legislation and emergency planning/fire safety sectors. This vast array of skills and experience can be applied in almost any field of work - particularly when it comes to broad OHS&W matters or those relating to laws and codes of practice.

As we are based in a regional area, we have the knowledge and skills to cover the unique challenges and issues faced by regional businesses and are extremely cost effective - having the most competitive pricing you will find in South Australia.

Some residential services are also offered for Home Safety (eg: home fire escape plans).

An initial no obligation FREE consultation service is available to most businesses*. This can be an informal visit of your premises and general advice on safety solutions available or of course service quotes.

* Outside of Whyalla this free service applies only when we are in the area. Alternatively this can be conducted over the telephone or by other arrangement that suits both parties.

Fees

Fees are structured depending on the work required and designed to be as cost effective for businesses as possible. Due to a range of favourable circumstances (eg: lower overheads, already based in the country) Southern OHS Solutions has the most competitive fee structure in South Australia (you are unlikely to find a better price elsewhere - if you do tell us!).

Any travel/accommodation expenses are charged only to recover costs, and only where applicable. Even these charges are extremely reasonable when compared to what is charged by other providers. For example, Southern OHS Solutions does not charge idle time fees (time spent actually travelling in a vehicle - often charged by other providers) nor inflated add ons to cover meals!!

Standard fee sheets are available to businesses on request when work is needed or a free consultation session is taken up.

Example of fee comparison:
Most "renowned" large OHS&W service providers charge upwards of $200 per hour and many smaller providers charge over $100 per hour (and that's before applying GST!). Southern OHS Solutions hourly fees are well under $100 even after applying GST!

Note: Tafe SA training fees are governed by Tafe, not by Southern OHS Solutions.
