This high quality inspection service is intended to provide businesses with a snapshot of their safety systems and a report outlining recommendations for improvement. There is no obligation to undertake any further services with Southern OHS Solutions. This provides a great incentive for those businesses who already have safety people and systems in place and are simply seeking an external fresh pair of eyes to demonstrate commitment and/or continuous improvement! "This is a simple, easy to access and very cost effective service," Mark, Principal Consultant of Southern OHS Solutions said. "Basically, it's a walkaround inspection of your premises with on-site advice and legislative compliance tips to whomever is accompanying me. I'll provide a follow up pictorial report summarising what I see and suggestions for improvement. I'll also point out the good things to reinforce effective practices in place." There is also the option of photographs for the appraisal. This is highly encouraged to enhance the whole the process and quality of the service. Mark ensures confidentiality and all photos are provided afterward to the business. "In safety a picture truly does speak a thousand words!" Mark said. "Photos enhance appraisals because they identify exactly what the recommendation refers to and of course provide that instant recognition of reference in the report. I sign a confidentiality agreement and will discuss any concerns before the service is provided. All photos are provided to the business by way of CD with the report, included in the price." The appraisal includes inspection (please allow up to 90 minutes), verbal discussion during the walkaround and a written report summarising identified issues and suggestions for improvement. The report is provided electronically or in the case where photos are permitted, provided with the photos on CDrom. The verbal discussion is a great opportunity to source quick and easy advice for issues as they are identified. The starting price for this quality service is an extremely competitive $100 and is available at this price to most small businesses in Whyalla. Outside of Whyalla a small surcharge to recover costs associated with travel is added (unless Mark is already in the area). Safety appraisals are available to businesses of any size and a quote can be requested. As a guide, $50 per additional hour of inspection should be budgeted.
