Report
Jellicoe Park, today's venue was presumably named after John Jellicoe, a British naval officer who was 1st Sea Lord in 1917-18 and whose efforts, history records, were marked by a policy of over-caution. I know you know that of course, as his ghost was clearly in attendance as the Sticky batting with a couple of notable exceptions dithered about and allowed Hardfactory's bolwers to dominate with 13 maidens out of 47 overs. Jez won the toss and opted to bat on a fast ground in good weather. The game plan began to unravel in the 6th however, with Big Undies top-edging an attempted pull after looking in fine fettle with two big opening fours. Rock was beginning to look set but thoughtfully played a delicate glance to short leg who snatched an ankle high catch. Dutch, Goose and TV Hero were looking in little trouble and each seeing the ball well but fell trying to push on. James's loss to a slips catch was bad news as he had just played a superb back-foot cover drive that brought applause from Hardfactory. Luke had the big cannon out but it misfired and he was on his way back. Things were not good at this point with the Stickys 6 for 39 and 50 was looking a good score. Speirsy, supported by the Deer Hunter, began to steady the rot and put on 19 before Rob, like Jez, half an hour before him, fell to a fast yorker. Admiral fired off a couple of lusty drives but skied his next and was caught in the infield. Simon just needed someone to stay with him as he was middling everything and Jaccy was the man. They put on partnership of 64 which next week may yet prove critical. With time running out Simon whacked into the outfield but was caught - on 49. Menga fell to a fine slips chance with the return of the quickie and JJ was left n.o. for an excellent 20. All out for 134 off 47. Hardfactory bowled and fielded well and it will take an even better effort from Stickys next week to pull this out. (jh 20/7)

Stickys had few moments of joy on day 2 with Hardfactory cruising to an easy win with just 3 wicketsdown - all to the Goose - in a touch over half the overs.

 Sticky Moment:
Simon out on 49 after having been called for running short a couple of times of his own batting. On day 2 it was James all the way with wickets in each of his first three overs.
