Report:
Day 1 - The Stickies did not get away to the start needed and we found themselves in deep trouble at 7 for 59, but the tail wagged enough to see the 50 out and Hardfactory are chasing 150 next week. Jezza won the toss and batted on a fine day at Parkes Drive but the Hardfactory boys bowled excellent line and length and troubled the top order one after the other such that the first six CACC bats were out bowled. Each got a bit of a start but couldn't push on alas. John and Jeremy steadied the collapse and put on 33 and were travelling well when JH holed out when looking set. Pete and Jez however set about repairing that setback and put on another much needed 33 before Pete was unlucky to be caught on the boundary with what would have been a six on any other ground. Jez and Jacob then saw out the remaining overs with another valuable stand of 24 to see us done at 149. A big effort will be needed next week.

Day 2 - The day had a great start for the Stickys when Goose snapped up a hard square drive off Jezza's second ball of the first over but that was about it for the next couple of hours as Paul Waite, ex-St George winger, smashed us out of the game with a 75, 64 of which were in boundaries. We had a couple of moments which went against us but otherwise it was leather-chasing all the way. Brocky bowled 12 straight and tried every trick he knew but couldn't get a break. JJ had a catch go down and then had a hard time. Pete had a tough day with edges going over, around and under slips and James doesn't want to remember his over when the batsmen were in over-drive. Jeremy however always looked dangerous and was the pick of us with a fine 3 for 22 off 7 and along with his fighting knock last week justly took out a best player point after Hardfactory's Waite and Stewart. He should have bowled from both ends. Pete lifted hopes on 101 with a great running catch in the outfield but it was Hardfactory's day.

Sticky Moment:
There were a couple in an otherwise pretty unexceptional day 1: Gary survived a strong appeal for caught behind only for the ump to explain that it had clipped the leg stump but the bails stayed in place. Good one. But later Jezza belted a terriific on-drive only to see it whack into Jacob at the other end. Tough one. A case of luck balancing things out again maybe. On day 2 Goose and Pete notched great catches and Jezza's in-swinger yorker to clean up Sean Bundy was a highlight.
