Report:
Day 1: Oh, why didn't we play like this last week! Possibly a cry heard at a few of the World Cup games as well. Jeremy was simply unstoppable with a great 6 for 18 off 17. At one point he had 5 for 2 and Randwick was 5 for 16. A couple of simple dropped catches (by 'keepers Harvey and Burrell) were about the only blemishes in a much improved day in the field. Mercifully the errant ones redeemed themselves with subsequent catches and good catches also to Menga and Rob. Angus and Gary got off to a start but each feathered one (possibly the jury is still out with Angus) and there was a slight alarm at 2 for not many, but Aaron and James batted calmly with cool heads against a very tight attack to take the side to 2 for 76 at the end of the day. A couple of more overs would have seen the Stickys ahead but time ran out. Excellent weather , but ground very slow due to rapid grass growth after the rain (4 fours in 65 overs).

Day 2: Rain was forecast but it held off and Stickys resumed batting under instructions from Jez that he wanted to declare in 5 to 10 overs. Aaron and James contined their good form and put on a further 14 but then it was willow swinging without too much effect and the declaration was made after 9 overs with a lead of 37. We started well in Randwick's second dig with a quick wicket to Jeremy but the second wicket pair dug in to put on 46 before the next break and then followed some smallish partnerships and wickets fell steadily, however so did the time - and it was well into the final hour before the last Randwick batsmen was winkled out. Bowling honours went again to Jez with another 6-for to give him a great 12 for 52 off 31 overs for the match. Simon's leggies got him two, and JJ got the vital last. There were some sticky moments as a few chances and half-chances went down but hands steadied and catches went to John, Aaron (2), Simon and Gary. At innings end Randwick held a lead of 81 with 13 overs available.

81 off 13 overs on a ground on which there had only been 10 fours in three innings was a big ask. The light was very bad with a storm threatening but Aaron and Angus, perhaps inspired by Gilchrist and Hayden, were not letting that worry them. By the 5th over they had belted 40 and things were looking interesting - no one was leaving early today. Aaron played out of his skin with a great 43 (4 fours and 3 sixes) well supported by Angus with a fine 20 and they put on a match winning partnership of 60 off 6.4 overs. James and Jez were then able to take their time and the target was reached with an over a a few balls to spare. A great win.

Sticky moments:
Day 1: Jez's 6-18! 'Nuff said.
Day 2: Jeremy again without doubt with a second 6-for, but Aaron and Angus put the icing on well and truly with a top effort.
