vintage WINTER 2003: Premiers in 6ths and 7th
grades

- G'day!
Welcome to CACC Stickys. In our dreams we try to play
cricket - a real bugger of a game, but we can't help
ourselves. Our name comes from our regular post-match
drinking spot, the Cricketers Arms Hotel in Fitzroy St,
Surry Hills - just about a good Steve Waugh slog from the
fabled Sydney Cricket Ground. Our delusional celebrations
(when we win) and bottomless misery (when we don't) has
moved the pub to sponsor us. 'Stickys', recognises
Dave King and family of Sticky, the Rocks Candy
Kitchen at Shop 17, The Rocks Centre, Sydney. Dave is
a co-founder, sometime player, chief dreamer and much
valued co-sponsor of CACC Sticky. Currently we play with
the Moore
Park and South East Cricket
Association
in summer and the Morning
Cricket Association
in winter. This winter we have entered two teams, the
Stickys in the 6ths with Big Undies in charge, and
the Jawbreakers in 7th grade under Jezza. Winter
rules: 9 aside, 36 six-ball overs. Side dismissed after 9
wickets (or 36 overs). Most runs win. Bowlers limited to
6 overs, with at least 6 bowlers used. Batsmen retire at
40 (but can come back after all other batsmen have
batted). Official umpires to officiate in all games.
