New Zealand line dance instructor, Stephen Paterson moved to Melbourne 5 years ago from his home town - Ashburton, on the South Island. He now teaches seven classes in various Melbourne suburbs each week, where he has a dedicated following of students.

His achievements and awards  are numerous in competition and choreography, both in Australia and overseas. He has a  relaxed and friendly teaching style which  caters for all levels including "absolute beginners"  to "advanced" dances  and his  personality provides fun classes.

Stephen is a past President of the Victorian Bootscoot Association and has been involved in organising the annual ball for the last  three years. This social event sees eleven hundred plus  linedancers gather together  in one venue from all over Australia and overseas.

Regular linedance socials are held by Stephen and are supported by his students and also students and teachers from other clubs. Many socials are theme nights with the hall elaborately decorated, creating a fantastic atmosphere - not to mention his spontaneous antics on and off the stage. Stephen's club "Line Dance Stephen Paterson" also known as "LDSP " is  welcoming  to new people and visitors to his  classes and socials.
