Chiral Embers and Corrupt Eden

What's that you say? Chiral Embers doesn't sound familiar? Well, yeah, it's new. I decided to retire the oft-redesigned and oft-neglected Corrupt Eden. It had a good run, first appearing sometime in 2002 on GeoCities, while the sixth and final incarnation popped up in 2004 on my cousin's domain. Since my move from Blogger to LiveJournal, however, it fell by the wayside. Two years later I've come back, burned the poor thing to the ground, and built a (hopefully worthy) successor. Corrupt Eden is dead, long live Chiral Embers!

Chiral Embers 1.0, "purple chequer", has almost the same colour-scheme as Corrupt Eden 6.0, "royal ribbons" - just more emphasis on the purple, rather than the blue. This is pretty much because I found myself unwilling to change the flat purple look of Tainted Bliss, my LJ.

...And the name? It doesn't mean anything. I just liked the sound of the two words together.

penchaft

I am 21, my birthday in January, and I live in Perth, Australia. I love summer, so it's a pretty good place. The beach in particular is quite excellent.
me
I am currently studying Classics and Linguistics at the Arts faculty of The University of Western Australia.

I am Secretary for both UWA's Science Fiction Association (UniSFA) and Unigames for 2007.

My hair's currently mostly a faded red. It tends to curl.

I'm a geek and a nerd, a slight gamer-girl, an unprofessional writer, a drama-lover, and not really a complete human. I'm an atheist and have other labels that begin with a- and un-. I like the fantasy and science-fiction genres, comics and manga, cartoons and anime, comedy and explosions, arguing and music. I hate angst and romance.

writing

I publically post a lot of my fiction to my LiveJournal, and I have a list of all my universes, short stories, and scrips at Intra Chartas.

I've been writing unprofessionally since I was little, but my great love for fantasy didn't start until I was 12 or so. Most of what I write now involves fantasy in some way, and is all original fiction. I've never been published and don't give a toss if I ever am or not, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to improve my skills. I'm a better writer than I was two years ago; I'd like to see that continue.

I'm a member of a few critiquing communities and I'm happy to read over, rip apart, and help rebuild original SF&F fiction. Okay, so sometimes that last step doesn't happen with truly hopeless pieces, but I do truly carry out the second one excellently in those cases.

Runaround

Runaround is a sprite comic. My latest, actually. sprites It has better (and more original) sprites than the previous two comics, Walkabout and WALK, and mostly involves people I know in UniSFA, but does include some on-line friends, imaginary characters and fandom sprites.

Optimally it updates thrice a week, but due to a dodgy monitor it went on hiatus for four months in 2007. I've been spriting on-and-off for over 5 years, and though I'm not exceptional, I like to think I'm okay at it.

cats

I currently have three cats. Mika is the lilac Burmese; Mal is the chocolate Burmese-Tiffany; Molly is the tortoiseshell Tonkinese and she's two years younger than the boys. They are all really big sooks.
my three cats
Before them were Mary, the ginger, and Milo, the grey one.
Milo was put down in 2004 (aged 13), Mary in 2005 (15). I still miss Milo.
