Textbook of Wisdom

First of all, the opening page is attention getting:-

This is the first edition of The Textbook of Wisdom.
The second edition may be very much better.
But why wait?
I do not know when the second edition will be ready.

The book is 279 pages with text on the left hand side, and diagrams on the right hand side - reminiscent of the graphic-rich "Atlas of Management Thinking". de Bono states that the book was written in four mornings!

From the preface:-

"Wisdom is not the same as cleverness...
Wisdom is not a function of intelligence...
Wisdom is more about perspective than detail...
Cleverness is like having a library full of books.
Wisdom is knowing which book to read at this moment".

The style is anecdotal with short sections that can be read quickly, pondered and then put into action. Unfortunately there isn't a table of contents or an index, but the sections are labelled as follows:-

I'll expand on this description as I explore this book, probably by reading a piece of wisdom each morning and putting it into practice.
