This book is published as part of the Kogan Page Better Management Skills series. The books in this series are short and focus on techniques aimed at achieving results more than the theory behind the techniques. They are aimed at broadening the skill base of business managers.

For a company to be successful, creativity needs to be encouraged throughout the organisation. There is a temptation to banish creativity to the arts, relying on imitation of past successes to carry business forward. This may work for a time, but only by constantly improving product and performance is it possible to stay ahead in a competitive world.

Business Creativity provides a simple structure that enables the reader to apply creativity techniques in the workplace. It fits problem solving and idea generation into a convenient, easy to remember framework.

Written for busy managers, this book describes techniques for promoting creative thinking at all levels, focusing equally on innovation and implementation.

Paul Birch is Corporate Jester for British Airways. He works in the Corporate Strategy department and his role involves challenging and provoking creative thought. He has worked for British Airways for 17 years in a wide variety of areas.
