!!ask becky!! - see above post... 04/05/2004 11:20pm - the month of april has passed and alot has happend on planetclinto since... where to start?? i dunno... i guess the most logical place is my acl knee operation which happend on april 14... seems like ages ago... after the easter long weekend which was spent editing (wait for that blog topic below!!)... highlights included... havin my leg shaved reinforcing the fact that i am very hairy... paper undies!!...getting some nice orange flowers & visit from nessy... shaz being a spaztic and restyling my hair to look like a dork whilst still recovering from drugs... pissing in the piss bottle (aka bed pan) in the middle of the nite and calling the nurse to inform her of the great accomplishment... feeling like a true invalid when being helped from my bed to the toilet... and seeing my bottle of blood dripping from my leg!!! ughhh... the pain!! all in one day & nite.... super amazing!!! i thnk overall i was glad to have it over and done with... wanting to start the recovery process as quickly as possible or more so the editing process.... hmmmm editing editing editing... i hate editing but i luv movie making... my oxi-moron (sorry spellin lah!!) of the month... (look that up in the clintospeak dictionary and ull prob find a picture of me with oxygen tubes stuck up my nose opps forgot to add that to my hospital highlights)... neway back to the topic... scriptwriting, revisions, planning, shooting and reshooting complete... 23+ dv tapes of footage, 100+ log sheets and a whole bunch of junk food awaitin the talents of the bck editing crew (hmmmphh!!)... all the days blurred into one as my bum became numb from sittin in my pc deck chair day after day after day... joined by the loyal few on days they wanted to show editing luv, this year the corvu film project was long and tedious... more so for me (self pity please!!) than others as i guess i had the most time to burn (plus the "editing suite / workshop" is @ my house!!)... i guess it was my time to feel the pain from the long season that passed... having not felt much of it on the boat / in the waters (i thnk i turned up to like 5 training sessions!! hmmm)... after surviving many late nights, dis-D-appointments & clintos-bitchiness-frustrations everything wrapped up last saturday (premiere nite!! - as usual with little time or sleep to spare!)... it all went down fine... cept the sound could have been heaps better... stupid 333 setup!! shit shit shitness... oh well everyone loved it as predicted... hard work paid off... lessons to be learnt for future projects: 1. don't expect too much or rely on friends who don't care as much or share the same "creative vision" - everyone has different priorities... i see everything clearer now... 2. if you really want something done do it yourself and don't bitch about doin it 3. don't fret too much or give up - eva!! - i sound like william hung!! 4. favours test friendships & commitment + everyone wants to only see the finished product! 5. less will be more next year... if i can be bothered doin it all again... for now the trilogy is complete!! clinto is retiring from the db movie scene... until he forgets the pain from the last 4 weeks!! in all i must show some love to the longest lasting f*ckr becky... in all her moods, complaining, non-pms pms and general bitchiness she still managed to turn up - eventually -(with or without her attachment) regularly to show some editing luv... also to my all time fav creative "spirit" & nurse s.c. ... who nursed me back to health & put up with MY complaining bout everyone's apparent lack of lurv and general bitchiness!! xx... miss pda-osos (what can i say cept i am truly honoured and lucky to have you as my pda... you were there in the final hours and even managed to secure a digital projector 5 hours prior to the screening!!! lucky someone else cares bout how good the final product looks or sounds!!) ok enuf with the little vent and reflections on the editing process... onwards to the vcd / dvd... hmmm another project in itself... must send out an email for numbers soon... perhaps after this somewat long blog entry... got quite tipsy @ sat nite premiere after all the stress of the movie & highlights... was even dancing around to the amazement of many and myself!!! amazing wat good music, the company of friends and afew beverages does for ur bum knee!! hehe... thou i did try to limit the poppin to upper body... songs of the nite were no doubt - jt, poison (bbd) & she's playin hard to get (high5)... luv the old skool jams... slept in til 4pm on sunday... one of the best sleeps this year... i am indeed gettin old!! recovery rate totally bites! speakin of mr im lovin it... we all gonna see the man himself on june 16!! should be most excellent... wayneo wants to take the day off work to line up... hehehhe... sunday nite our etdb (chad) movie screend as a finalist @ the mafia awards... needless to say we didnt win... but was good to see it on the big screen and hear others (non rowering arty types) applaude your film... and our film was the only one to fade to white!! or not fade to black ... it also was the one with the least credits!! hmmm a truely arthouse experience as the other films studied somewat "deeper" topics as: aboriginal rights, bondage fetishes, fetish houses or dungeons (sorry no dragons here!!), war, human cloning, drugs & street graphitti!...
