Gurab
Medium Combat Mecha
The Gurab is the mainstay of the Inbit forces, used extensively for combat and other uses. The larger of the two original Inbit mecha designs, the Gurab saw heavier action and most grew to fear it's claws. The Gurab's three taloned claws allows it to be used in non-combat roles, unlike the Iigaa and it's single tearing talon. The Gurab is slower than the Iigaa, but feature heavier armor.
Against Ride Armors, the Gurab is quite slow and cumbersome. Just like the Iigaa, the Gurab began to outclassed by the new mecha using Mars Base forces. When the Inbit developed their own ranged weapon technology, the Gurab was replaced by the Twin cannon equiped Gurab Second
Dimensions:
| Length: | 4.6 m |
| Width : | 4.0 m |
| Height: | 5.0 m |
| Weight: | 10.0 metric tons |
Type:
- First generation Inbit combat mecha.
Pilot:
Propulsion:
- 1 vectorable thruster port, power unknown.
- Fuel Capacity: Unknown
Performance:
- Maximum level speed
(Terra-type atmosphere) : 482 kph- Minimum speed : 0 kph (hover)
- Reconnaissance speed (typical): 96-240 kph
- Maximum running speed : 96 kph
- Energy endurance : unknown.
Sensor Systems:
- Visual (low spectral resolution) capable of up to 4x magnification. Night vision optics arealso provided, but suffer even more from the poor spectral resolution.
- Energy Sensors, providing detection and tracking of active Hydrogen-powered turbines. For detection of a high-power Legioss Armo-Fighter, good resolution extendsout to 3km, fair resolution out to 6km, and poor resolution out to 16.8km. A Ride Armor at four percent of thesedistances, and a Gallant rifle at about one percent of these distances.
- External audio pickup
- Short-range ultrasonic motion trackers.
Note: The Inbit pilot can communicate telepathically out to 600m.
Weaponry:
- Two three-taloned claws.
- Two talons on each foot.
Armor:
Full protection against chemical and biological warfare, radiation shielded. Armor will stop all grenade/shell/mortar fragments, energy beams and solids originating in hand-held weaponry at greater than point-blank range. Limited capacity against heavier weaponry. Like almost all Inbit mecha the sensor eye is a weak point; almost any hit to this area will pass straight through and kill the pilot.
