June til Monday September 20th, 2004 ...in a nutshell

Who's Back!

Okay massive break i know.. long story short, after Tan returned from overseas, which obviously was quite the highlight, spending lots of quality time with my girl :), then an intense workload came in the form of assignments and exams for semester 1, then holidays came, and parents left for 5 weeks and the mayhem began.

This semester at school has been sucking up a LOT of my time, and when I do have some free, I pretty much dont want to be near a computer! so that's a major reason why there has been so few updates! Well that multiplied by my laziness and there's your answer... appologies, but it'll hopefull stay up to date now ;-)

Highlights of this period:

  • Went to the Jurassic 5 concert - awesome...
  • Made cookies and we all got insanely trashed..
  • Got results from semester one: DI, DI, DI, HD (ahhh yeah..)
  • Bought a motorised skateboard, sooo much fun.. pics
  • Set up the table and have played many a game of table tennis.
  • Our crew has brought back the 'High Five' accompanied by "Aoow" sound effects from Waynes World
  • James Alford had another huge party, tequila shots all night.. pics
  • Had a big stack and came flying off the skateboard - recovered now..
  • Kim Langdon had a party, tequila shots and high fives all night.. pics
  • Discovered best Xbox multiplayer game ever - Mashed.. it's a cross between micro machines and mario kart...

I cant believe i went another winter without getting to the snow.. and it was the best snow in like 10 years or something.. next season i'm sooo there!!

This weekend just passed, we all (Me, Tan, Sean, Rhett, Adam, Mick, Alana, Kim, Alex, Peter & Michael) went to Ace Morning, which is a small club in brunswick. They had an open mic night there and Rhett was signed up to play the decks with this dude Matt that he's been working with lately, rapping.. It was a great night and Matt and Rhett took the cake when it came to comparing the acts of the night.

After the main performances were over, it became a sortof free for all with the mic. Alex Stone had a few gos in the spotlight and didnt fail to impress. Sean ended up having it thrust in his hands also, who then proceded to bust out a Hilltop Hoods verse which sounded awesome.. These guys should really keep it up..

It's my birthday this Thursday 23rd, on the friday we're going out to the Hawthorn for drinks..

Thursday 27th May, 2004

Well last weekend was, as I predicted, fantastic!! Great to have Tania back, and all went well over the weekend. We went down to Lorne for the night and stayed in this awesome 4 1/2 star place.. was excellent!

Unfortunately it was straight back into schoolwork afterwards and will continue that way for the next few weeks. Geez, all I ever talk about is school work.. I'm thinkin' a few possibilities:

  1. This course is insanely overloaded in terms of workload
  2. I'm just not as bright as I thought I was
  3. I'm hopeless at time management
  4. My approach to doing assignments is far from ideal

I'd hazzard a guess that numbers 3 and 4 are the culprits, with 1 and 2 closely trailing behind... I'm gonna make a few changes next semester, like vowing to start assignments as soon as I get them, etc.. Just gotta stick to it. We'll see. All I know is that I cannot possibly continue the way I am. I sense burnout looming...

Soon enough this semester will be over with, and I am going to party like I've never partied before.. Well that could be dangerous.. but you get the point ;-)

Oh my god.. that 700meg video of the michael moore movie i was downloading ended up being a 59 second intro to some english film.. damn those people who share incorrect filenames...

bye for now..

Thursday 20th May, 2004

Hey all, so I ended up puting a counter on this page and to my suprise - people read this!! Cool.. Hi everyone.. lol

Well Tan's on the plane right now and gets back tomorrow night! This weekends gonna be awesome.. I'm *sortof* in a good position with my schoolwork, well good enough to be able to totally put the books away for this weekend anyway.. We'll probably end up going to Robbie's 21st for a little while on sat night. Then I'm taking her away on Sunday for the night, hopefully she wont be too jetlagged ;)

I'm currently downloading a copy of that Michael Moore film Fahrenheit 9/11, for those who dont know, it's a documentary about the World Trade Center bombings, George Bush, and his family's financial ties to the Bin Ladens... It was stopped from being distributed and banned at the Cannes film festival in the US - allegedly due the the fact that there's an election coming up and the gov doesn't want that kind of bad publicity at this point... anyway, if anyone wants to see it i'm considering a screening somewhere.. *pending the quality of the download!!*

Peace...

Sunday 16th May, 2004

Yet another long period between posts.. and still nothing particuly interesting has happened in the mean time.. :) I've managed to resist the urge to socialise on the weekends for the last two weeks, just locking myself in my room to do school work 24/7.. Though I am getting pretty far, finished one assignment totally... one nearly done... one about half done.. and one not started... Geez this is a fucken heavy workload.. I dont even have a job and i can barely handle it.. I guess I just need to start all my assignments as soon as I get them from now on. I'll try that next semester... *heres hoping*

So, only 5 days till Tan gets back in town now, which is pretty exciting!

I wonder if anyone reads this thing.. maybe i should put a counter on the page.. *yawn* bedtime..

Friday 7th May, 2004

Well, been over a week since last post, school has been killing me! To prove this it's 2:30am (so i guess the date's wrong) and i've been home doing homework on a Friday night... This is an unbelievably rare occurence for me.. Tania comes home in two weeks tonight, and i have 4 assignements due in the week that follows! So i'm bustin ass to get them all done before she arrives...

Cold is still lingering too! probably cos of too many late nights and early mornings... Nearly gone tho. Not going out this weekend will help tremendously.

Another thing that wouldn't have helped the cold is playing two back to back netball games on tuesday night.. why is it that throughout the whole season we never play two games, yet in the finals we do??
We won the 1st game, which was a preliminary to get in the grand final, which we lost by 1 point - playing against a team that only had to play that game? As if we wouldn't have won if it were the only game we played!! On top of that the prelim had two umpires and the grand final only had one?! anyway, enough bitching about netball :)

The only thing i've been doing other than school at the moment is watching Sopranos.. I now have the first 4 seasons on dvd and i'm half way through season 3, it's great! I wanna catch up to tv, as the fifth season just started on tuesday nights...

Be prepared for two weeks of boring, boring, posts :-)

Thursday 29th April, 2004

Well I was right, fucken bitch of a cold!! Trying to do this Java assignment whilst doped up on cold and flu tablets - not a good combination... Luckily I just got an email from my lecturer saying we've got an extension till 4:30pm Saturday! Excellent...

Sean and alex went to see more of Hilltop Hoods.. Apparently the gig was heaps better than the one I went to on Sunday (typical!) and Sean had a much better position to take photos.. here they are..

Short entry.. bed time :)

Tuesday 27th April, 2004

What a weekend... Saturday night at Amy and Alex's was great, and the Loft is a fantastic venue.. Lots of comfy couches to chill out on and a decent dance floor down the other end.. Definately think we'll be heading back there! Pics can be found here..

Of course the following night (Sunday) absolutely rocked! Hilltop Hoods playing at the Corner Hotel in richmond.. totally blew me away, awesome live performers! There's another show tonight and tomorrow, Alex S. is going to both and Sean is joining him for the Wednesday session. Pictures from all three shows can/will be found here..

Typically (whenever i have a great weekend) I woke up this morning with a sore throat and chest that feels like its gonna develop into an absolute bitch of a cold... oh well, take the bad with the good...

Squeezing in some homework I managed to get an assignment finished over the weekend as well.. submitted monday, now just one more in this group of assignments that i should be doing now... due Friday.. better get to it :)

Friday 23rd April, 2004

Skirmish was as good as ever, as to be expected! :-) pics will be up soon here. Sean, Adam, Anton and I cruised up on Friday night to stay at my aunties. Alex & Ryan were supposed to come but didnt leave until 10:00pm or something so they stayed in a motel, Phil and Yoda stayed up all night friday then journeyed up to Echuca/Moamma at 5:00am Saturday.. The day was awesome and I only spent $140 or so, Better than the $250 I spent last time :-)
I guess it would've been better had the 30 or so people who said they were keen had actually followed through and come along, then we could've had a field to ourselves! But none the less, a fantastic weekend. My body has healed quite will now, was covered in welts from the painballs but only a few small bruises left...

Kill Bill 2 came out last night.. hanging to see than, might go this weekend if i have time... assignment due on Monday and another (that i havent touched) due on Friday... This Saturday night we have Alex S. and Amy's joint 24th Birthday at the Loft in the City.. should be heaps of fun.. Cant go too nuts though cos on Sunday night Sean and I are going to see Hilltop Hoods (Aussie Hip Hop group) play at the Corner Hotel.. which will be awesome...

I have a date of Tania's return now, Friday 21st May.. yay! So i guess it's actually exactly 4 weeks from today, not last week!

Till next time :-)

Thursday 15th April, 2004

I got some great news this morning, Tania called from England to say she'll be coming home in 4 weeks now.. yay! :-) Was worried for a little while that she'd get to love the place and want to stay forever, but turns out there's no place like home... which I have absolutly no objections to! ;-)

Well this week hasn't been so interesting.. A bit of homework (not nealy enough) and a whole lot of doing nothing :-) Although I did register a business and got an ABN number today! I've been saving all my cash for this weekend when a bunch of us are heading up to Echuca for an awsome day of Skirmish Painball.. I've been twice before and I'm hanging to get up there again!! Second to snowboarding there's nothing that beats it when it comes to recreational sports. My auntie and uncle are letting 6 of us stay at their place on friday night too, so that'll be great also.

Getsome!! Getsome!!!

Sunday 11th April, 2004

Easter Sunday today.. School holidays have been good and bad.. Bad only due to the amount of homework I've had to do, but good coz I've been doing plenty of drinking with friends as well. ;)

A friend of mine Alex (different Alex) lent me his web cam for a while.. Didn't take me long to experiment with it and managed to get a live feed to this page going (still shots updated every 3 seconds). Not that usefull because it's either going to be a shot of me sitting at my computer or me not sitting at my computer so I dont think many people would find that interesting.. lol, but it's good in the sense that Tania being overseas can get a chance to see me :-)
Last night Sean, Mish, Avi and my brother Mick were hanging here drinking and we got a message from Tania and Bec in London saying to go infront of the cam.. We all got to wave and say hi. It was pretty cool.

This week is just gonna be full of more homework.. But next weekend will rock! We're going to play skirmish (paintball) in Echuca.. gives me a lot of incentive to knuckle down and get some work done.

Thurday 8th April, 2004

Well, today was the start to the mid-term school holidays.. not that they're going to be particurly evenfull for me as I have a shitload of work to do... grrr.. But obviously it's good to get away from classes and the daily routine.. and it's Easter! mmmmm chocolate..

Been a long week, with gf Tania gone, and at the same time giving up smoking ciggies and regular joints (successfully so far I might add) which is kinda makin' it pretty tough.. But things are on the up, so all's good!

Still cant think of a good name for my fish.. Maybe one of the 3 people who visit this site might be able to help.. I'll put it on the message board..

Yeah, um tonight I think me and a bunch of my friends are gonna go chill out at Rhett's place.. Rhett's been a mate of mine since year 1993 and is a promising dj.. Other friends, Sean, Alex and Adam are trying to become melbournes equivalent of the Hilltop Hoods and i think they wanna record some rhymes... ;-) Should be fun..

Sunday 4th April, 2004:

The first entry.. Well today I'm actually feelin' a bit down...which kinda sucks for the first entry.. But I have all reason to, as my girlfriend, Tania just left the country last night.. D'oh! She's gone to London for an indefinate amount of time.. but probably within the vicinity of 1-3 months.

On a lighter note, I scored a new friend - a siamese fighting fish.. He's pretty cool and lives in a bowl that looks like a huge brandy glass. My brother Michael's girlfriend Michelle gave him to me as she was bored of it.. lol.. Come to think of it I haven't named him.. hmm.. *thinking* I'll call him... Finface... actually I think I'll sleep on it...
