PRACTICAL WORKPLACE ERGONOMICS

(i)    Safe Manual Materials Handling

(ii)  Job Safety Analysis  -  2 days

2 days

This practical on-site course, conducted over two weeks and tried, tested and developed over several years, is designed to assist participants deal with the essential factors important for good manual materials handling practices.

Participants are encouraged to find alternative means of moving materials - and treating manual handling as the last resort.

The approaches to manual handling covered in the course are consistent with new legislative intent and direction.  The purpose of the course is not just to train a group of workers how to lift "safely", but to develop the participants' knowledge, skills and understanding of the manual handling issue, its problems and solutions - skills and understandings which remain with the organisation long after the training has finished.
