DREAM BY RUSSELL SWANN ON 19 NOV 1997 ABOUT THE MAN'S WIFE WHO GOT TAKEN AWAY IN A GIGANTIC TIDAL WAVE AND THE STEEL GIRDER WHICH SAVED THE MAN

I had a dream about a man and his wife. A tidal wave came and washed her away. I was the man in the dream. Then I had the same dream again but this time with details.

The woman, my wife, and I were in a car with our two children - a boy and a girl. The woman had a vision of all types of tropical fish with the premonition that they would be eating her until all evidence of her existence was gone. I was driving the car and had the same vision about all types of tropical fish. I dwelt on the joy of fishing and catching the fish with a fishing rod. I thought about the necessity of wearing gloves to handle the poisonous ones.

We arrived at a restaurant made out of logs and built on a sandy tropical island. The Chinese and Malaysian food on offer was cooked by an Indonesian Balinese chef. There were different types of people here and I particularly noticed a surfer.

All of a sudden I knew that a gigantic tidal wave was on its way. I looked out to the sea and there it was. I had never imagined such a huge tidal wave. It was totally awesome and it was like an expression of great power and might. I saw the surfer try to body surf the tidal wave but it was like a joke.

I knew that there was a steel girder fixed upright in the center of the log restaurant. I went directly to it and held on to it. There was no way I was going to let go of the steel girder. Was wife was also close by to the steel girder but she did not take a hold of it. The tidal wave struck. The restaurant and even the whole island was insignificant compared to the size of the tidal wave. The wave took my wife away and there was no more trace of her just as she had seen in the vision.

While embracing the steel girder and under the powerful impact of the wave, I felt the steel girder begin to twist. I therefore stretched out my arms and body clinging to the girder as if to conform to the shape of it. This prevented it from twisting or buckling. Now it seemed that the steel girder could hold up the weight of the whole world.

At the height of the force of the wave I became one with the girder and I no longer had to hold on to it. Now it was as if the girder was holding me and I knew nothing but peace and calm. I couldn't even see the turmoil and devastation that was taking place. All my eyes could see were gentle pastel colours and patterns.

After the tidal wave I was standing on the island beside my steel girder (I call it my steel girder because of what it had done for me). It was now a flag pole and I was a police inspector of the early 1900's. A husband and wife of the same era came to visit me. They brought me some poetry to read as they had often done in the past. I thought to myself that after the gigantic tidal wave the poetry that they wrote was not the same. I then woke up.

Hi Paula,

I had this dream a couple of days ago and am hoping you can help me out with it. Thanks for your work in the Lord.

This is the dream I had March 1st

The children and I went over to a friends house. They are Christians. I remember that our children were going to play a game like ping-pong but the table to play it on was very tiny; much too small to be able to keep the ball on. The mom was going to go to sleep even though we were there, so I started to prepare to go. I had trouble finding my purse so I was quickly trying to find it. The husband seemed upset that I was still there, so I thought it was because his wife had left the room. I couldn't seem to find it so decided to leave without it as he had several friends who were on their way in to visit. They were crude, rough men and I felt that I was in some spiritual danger should I not leave. On my way to our van one of them made a vulgar remark even though I had my children with me, so I hurried even more.

After that we went to a shopping center which seemed to be in a large city. We went to a vendor in the hall of the mall who had a square of tables around her. The children were interested in the jewelry made all of semi-precious stone. We stayed there for a long time. During this time I realized that I didn't have any money and said so to the children. Even though the lady overheard this, she didn't mind the children looking at the jewelry for a long time. We were happy just to keep looking at them. When it was time for us to go she didn't say anything and was patient with us, as unbeknownst to me, some had fallen on the floor. We all picked it up carefully and arranged it on the table with the vendor lady helping us pleasantly and in an unhurried manner.

Hi Paula,

I had this dream last night.

I got off a bus and it was night time. I was walking down this street. I turned around as I thought it may not be safe walking around at night time. I then noticed a lady walking a little way behind me. I felt safe after I saw her there.

I was to be getting married a second time to my husband. I heard this music in the distance. I came to a house where I went in a room. There was an old closet. I grabbed my wedding dress, which was white and walked into the bedroom to put it on and get ready for the wedding.

I noticed that I didn't have any wedding shoes. All the shoes that were there were sandal types and none of them were suitable. One was too high and the others too low. I was looking for shoes that were just right.

I was holding the wedding dress next to me when my brother (not a Christian) opened the door with his friend and stood there looking at me. I told them to close the door as I was undressed, though still holding the gown next to me. I awoke after this.

2. DISCIPLESHIP - Teaching Christians to discern the teaching of the Holy Spirit in the interpretation of Dreams and Visions.

With regards to interpretation, we welcome possible interpretations, alternative meanings, corrections and additions. However, there will be a flow in agreement of that which the Lord is saying in dreams and visions from around the world at particular times. Generally, postings on the List will be done in harmony with the flow of this River. Accordingly, God given dreams and visions need to be interpreted from the content and "vocabulary" of the dreams and visions themselves.

Interpretations must also be made in relation to the whole dream or vision and not to just an isolated part thereof. In this way the D&V List postings will try to avoid any particular doctrinal bias that have no credible relation to the dreams or visions posted. Thus, in order for interpretations and comments from mails to be posted, they will have to contain credible witness from the whole dream or vision and from relevant scriptures.
