If you and the husband are the same person in the dream then the riddle of the 3 cups opens up. They symbolize the divine and intimate fellowship and communion that you and your wife have with God. Whereas it was in a small measure previously (3 very small cups), the prophecy of the dream is saying that it is now in a greater measure. As you mentioned, a threefold cord cannot be easily broken. Dream by Russell Swann on 10 June 2005 and interpretation by Paula Cavu.

Dream: 10th Friday June 2005
The dream began with a man and his wife pitching a tent from the back of his car. I noticed that he paid great attention to erecting it in such away that entry flaps were as wide open as possible. In the dream I knew that usually this couple kept to themselves but now they wanted to open themselves to relating with others, whereas previously they have always kept to themselves.
** Most likely the first part of the dream describes a married couple that have been keeping to themselves in the community they are presently living in. The dream is saying that things have now changed dramatically and they have now opened up their lives to relate and communicate with others (entry flaps of personal tent from car wide open).
I was also aware in the dream that the man longed for his wife to be more loving towards him. She was of the view that it is the husband’s job to look after the wife, meet her needs and give her those material things she desires.
** This portion of the dream describes the couple intimately literally as in real life.
I walked up to them and said, “You may not believe in God the Father but He is going to bless you tonight. You are a nice man and your wife is beautiful (in the dream she reminded me of a movie star), He is going to bless you with... (I can’t remember what the first blessing was, it may be “confidence” such as in Him) and He will bless you with love for one another. I then perceived that they were Christians but not committed believers.
After telling them that God is going to bless them tonight I examined my heart; who was I to speak for God? Did God say it, was it from Him or was I speaking from myself? Then in the dream I knew I could be confident that it was from God because of the close and intimate communion I have between God and myself.
After telling them that God was going to bless them tonight with …… and with love for one another, it seemed their relationship changed already. They were more open to one another, the wife was excited at loving her husband more, he too felt a sense of expectation that their relationship was going to grow in love, become more intimate as they draw closer to one another. The countenance on their faces had changed as their relationship with one another had changed.
** After identifying the couple, the middle portion of the dream above is declaring that God is now blessing them with confidence in the Lord that is releasing quality love for one another (love which is of God). The couple were previously Christian but were not that committed. However, things have now changed because of the close relationship that has been forged with God.
** Hey Russ, if you will receive it, I believe that the man with the wife and you the dreamer are the same person!
I then went to make three cups of coffee for us to drink. At first I only found three very small cups that only held a little coffee so I looked till I found larger cups. I filled the cups with coffee until they were full. At that the dream ended.
** If you and the husband are the same person in the dream then the riddle of the 3 cups opens up. They symbolize the divine and intimate fellowship and communion that you and your wife have with God. Whereas it was in a small measure previously (3 very small cups), the prophecy of the dream is saying that it is now in a greater measure. As you mentioned, a threefold cord cannot be easily broken. Therefore, this is a dream of personal encouragement in the divine inspiration and direction of God in your lives in Christ.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Ecc 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.
Ecc 4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Ecc 4:11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
Ecc 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
DISCIPLESHIP GUIDANCE FOR THE INTERPRETATION BELOW
If my personal interpretation computes in real life, then you may have tested the boundary of credibility a little in your extrapolation. We all do this once we have a focus on what we believe the subject matter of the dream was about. Once you made a connection between the tent flaps and the veil of the temple, the direction of interpretation followed. However, the dream was not so much about fellowship with God but about the relationship of the couple and the openness of their personal tent (personal lives) to others. It was on this point that you may have made the error.
This was not an easy dream to interpret but it shows how your discipleship at the hands of the Holy Spirit is going up another level of maturity.
RESPONSE FROM RUSSELL
Hi Paula, thanks so much for the wonderful interpretation. I say wonderful because my spirit gives witness to it and I am always amazed at God's loving kindness to us and His faithfulness to complete that which he has begun in us. It is so beautiful that God would speak directly to me with such detail about my relationship with my wife. It also draws me to seeking God more in that I would have loved to been able to interpret this dream with credibility. I thank Lord for such an encouraging dream.
I would say that my commitment to studies and Maria's language barrier could very well be that which the dream implied was keeping us to ourselves from the community. It has certainly been finding a local church and planted there with fellowship with others that has opened our lives up to others (entry flaps of personal tent from car wide open). Thanks again for you time and effort you put towards my dreams and the patient guidance that you give.

Subject: Dream: (update) Veil rent and love for one another

Dream: 10th Friday June 2005
The dream began with a man and his wife pitching a tent from the back of his car. I noticed that he paid great attention to erecting it in such away that entry flaps were as wide open as possible. In the dream I knew that usually this couple kept to themselves but now they wanted to open themselves to relating with others, whereas previously they have always kept to themselves. I was also aware in the dream that the man longed for his wife to be more loving towards him. She was of the view that it is the husband’s job to look after the wife, meet her needs and give her those material things she desires.
# There is some resemblance of the characteristics of the wife (e.g. materialistic, her needs, her desires) with that of the present day Church. However God desires to bring the Church into a more loving and intimate relationship with him.
The tent flaps being opened for the purpose relating with others signifies the second veil that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place of which was torn open so that all might enter into the Holy of Holies and receive from God as He speaks with us face to face.
Mark 15:37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
Mark 15:38 And the VEIL OF THE TEMPLE WAS RENT IN TWAIN from the top to the bottom.
I walked up to them and said, “You may not believe in God the Father but He is going to bless you tonight. You are a nice man and you wife is beautiful (in the dream she reminded me of a movie star), He is going to bless you with ….. (I can’t remember what the first blessing was, it may be “confidence” such as in Him) and He will bless you with love for one another. I then perceived that they were Christians but not committed believers.
# The blessing may well speak of both the believers love for one another and also the believers love for God. God’s blessing for believers to have love for one another (and also that the man and wife opened the tent because “now they wanted to open themselves to relating with others”) is in preparation for Christ’s return for His Church.
1Thes 3:12 And the LORD MAKE YOU INCREASE AND ABOUND IN LOVE ONE TOWARD ANOTHER another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
1Thes 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
# However, in the context of the husband and wife relationship, this blessing may also be a blessing from God to bring his people into a closer and more loving fellowship with Him. This blessing is also expressed by the tent being opened to allow access for relationship which portraying the veil being torn open that all have access to God the Father and commune with Him and He with them.
1Thes 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: FOR YE YOURSELVES ARE TAUGHT OF GOD to love one another
After telling them that God is going to bless them tonight I examined my heart; who was I to speak for God? Did God say it, was it from Him or was I speaking from myself? Then in the dream I knew I could be confident that it was from God because of my close and intimate communion I’m have between God and myself.
# This dream may be revealing the connection between loving God and loving one another with confidently knowing God and speaking not of ourselves but of God.
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK I SPEAK UNTO YOU I SPEAK NOT OF MYSELF: BUT THE FATHER THAT DWELLETH IN ME, he doeth the works.
1John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
1John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. IF WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER, GOD DWELLETH IN US, AND HIS LOVE IS PERFECTED IN US.
1John 4:13 HEREBY KNOW WE THAT WE DWELL IN HIM, AND HE IN US, BECAUSE HE HATH GIVEN US OF HIS SPIRIT.
1John 4:7 Beloved, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER: for love is of God; and EVERY ONE THAT LOVETH IS BORN OF GOD, and KNOWETH GOD.
1John 4:8 HE THAT LOVETH NOT KNOWETH NOT GOD; for God is love.
# Being blessed tonight (“You may not believe in God the Father but He is going to bless you tonight”) may be expressing that God is going to do these things very soon. They already became excited and had an expectation.
I then went to make three cups of coffee for us to drink. At first I only found three very small cups the only held a little coffee so I looked till I found larger cups. I filled the cups with coffee until they were full. At that the dream ended.
# The three cups of coffee maybe speaking of the fellowship we each have with God and with one another as not being separate but are as one fellowship.
Eccl 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and A THREEFOLD CORD IS NOT QUICKLY BROKEN
