The denial of oneself in order to do the will of God on earth as it is in heaven, does indeed open up the kingdom of God within believers. At anytime, as a spiritual adult in Christ, that you consider yourself above others, you recognize that the self has NOT been denied. When a reprimand from a colleague or a stern reply from a spouse or a taunt from a person of another race or any manifestation of the works of the flesh fail to conquer the love, peace, sound mind and joy of the believer, spiritual adulthood has been attained. Dream about the Cross in the mirror
Hi Paula,
I had a very short and unusual dream that I would love to know the meaning of.
I walked into my bathroom, and was looking in the mirror. Just above the bridge of my nose I noticed a cross starting to appear. As it became more noticeable as I was looking at it in the mirror, I noticed a yellow and blue colour with a red, and white thin stripe across it. I called out in excitement to a friend of my husbands and myself. I called him to come into the bathroom, and see the cross. I awoke after that.
Addressing the divine entity within
** It is so divine that the subject matter of this dream has been on my heart for the last week or so. The inspiration came from the same subject matter in recent D&V Lists that had to do with the manifestation of ‘the sons of God,’ ‘the man child,’ the ‘perfect man,’ ‘the image and likeness of God’ and ‘Christ in you the hope of glory’ that were one and the same entity. The revelation or inspiration enlightened in the way of the answer to the question, ‘How do believers attain unto the divine entity?’ The answer embodies the spirit and life of following scriptures that I shall elaborate on. The dream scenario of the cleansing message of the bathroom, the mirror of the Word of God clothed in flesh and blood and the ministry of the Cross of Calvary are all addressed.
How do believers attain to the divine entity?
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
** The ultimate purpose of all leadership ministries that are directed by the Holy Ghost is to present every believer perfect in Christ Jesus.
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; THAT WE MAY PRESENT EVERY MAN PERFECT IN CHRIST JESUS:
Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
The ultimate vision of the believer
2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
** The ultimate vision of every believer is to be transformed into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ who is the embodiment of God and who is the fulfillment of the spirit and life of Scripture.
Transformation beyond the gifts of the Spirit
1Co 13:8 Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
1Co 13:10 but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things.
1Co 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
** The transformation process goes through and does not stop at the operation of the gifts or abilities of the Spirit such as in ‘prophecies,’ ‘speaking in tongues’ and ‘word of knowledge.’ In the grand scheme of things or compared to the ultimate vision and purpose of God already substantiated, the gifts of the Spirit belong to the imperfect, immature or child-like level of transformation.
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 WHICH IS THE EARNEST OF OUR INHERITANCE until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
** We grow and develop through the ‘child-level’ of transformation to better things, even transforming into the ‘perfect man’ in Christ Jesus in the manifestation of the ‘the sons of God.’ When the ‘man child’ is ‘weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast’ of flesh and blood ministers, he is caught up unto God for intimate and direct teaching and leading so that he becomes an adult or a fully grown perfect man in ‘the measure and stature of the fullness of Christ.’ The study of Jesus Christ of the Gospels reveals the nature and character of the perfect man.
** As with Jesus of the Gospels, the perfect man is not subject to the law for this world (Old Testament) that could not make anybody perfect, rather, he is subject to ‘the perfect law of liberty’ (New Testament) whereby the believer is made perfect.
1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Transforming from carnality into the image of Christ
** The man that is subject to the law for this world beholds ‘his natural face in a mirror’ but the man subject to the ‘perfect law of liberty’ looks into the mirror and sees ‘the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.’ It is the latter that is ‘weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast’ of flesh and blood parents and it is the latter that ‘shall be blessed in his doing.’
Jam 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.
Jam 1:23 For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
Jam 1:24 for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jam 1:25 But he that looketh into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.
Key to living in the perfect law of liberty
Gal 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
** The key to living in the ‘perfect law of liberty’ is to be crucified with Christ and to live the Christ life in the faith of the Son of God. Here, the believer denies himself to take up the cross and do the will of God as Jesus instructed and as Jesus did. This is the meaning of the Cross that was seen in the dream. It embodies the spirit and life of the word of God for the churches today.
Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
How does one deny oneself?
** The answer to this question is so crucial to the progress of Christians that the opposition spirit of the world has sought to steal it, to adulterate it and to destroy it as through the populist ‘self-esteem’ doctrine of psychology, of the religions of the world and of apostate Christendom. The ‘self-esteem’ doctrine of the world is blatantly opposite to the ‘deny himself’ teaching of Jesus that ministers who preach it from the pulpit are, in fact, NOT preaching the Gospel of Christ. This is indeed a characteristic of spiritual childhood that becomes even more pronounced in immaturity when the worldly doctrine is in the hands of mere flesh and blood ministers. Lacking in the anointing of the Holy One, these just imitate the teaching of other ministers or ‘parrot’ the lectures of the intellectuals of this world. This is a clear case of the blind, relative to seeing the direct teaching and leading of God, leading the blind.
Luk 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
Luk 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: BUT EVERY ONE THAT IS PERFECT SHALL BE AS HIS MASTER.
2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, WHICH THEY THAT ARE UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE WREST, AS THEY DO ALSO THE OTHER SCRIPTURES, UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION.
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
** Scripture is clear in declaring that those who are taught and led of the Spirit of God – living and walking in the Spirit – they are the sons of God!
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
To deny oneself is to discover the liberty of Christ
** The precious fruit in the life of one who has denied oneself and taken up his cross to follow Jesus, is liberty. It seems a paradox that doing the commandments of God leads, NOT to slavery but leads to true liberty.
Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house forever: but the Son abideth ever.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Liberty in the law of God
** The classic illustration that will give us understanding is the demonstrable fact that children need basic rules and boundaries of behaviour in order to possess true liberty that leads to peace and joy in their environment. Without rules and boundaries, the parents, teachers and society will have spoilt brats running around in anarchy. The currently popular TV series from England called, ‘Super Nanny,’ epitomizes this truth clearly in that it also highlights how the parents themselves needed to understand the principle of basic rules and boundaries of behaviour.
Law, rules and boundaries assimilated into fruit of the Spirit
** As the child grows and develops to adulthood, the rules and boundaries become assimilated into his very nature. Here, possession of the perfect fruit of divine love, peace and joy in whatever circumstances encountered, becomes the life of the child that has grown to maturity. In the language of the Bible, these are the fruit of the Spirit of God and the very nature of Jesus that identify the life of the New Testament Covenant in Christ Jesus. Here, the intangible transcendental bliss or ‘nirvana’ of the life of heaven becomes tangibly clothed in flesh and blood to have expression in the lives of believers on earth. Against the nature and spontaneous life of the fruit of the Spirit in the perfect man, there is no law, rule or boundary.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: AGAINST SUCH THERE IS NO LAW.
Col 2:20 If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye SUBJECT YOURSELVES TO ORDINANCES,
Col 2:21 Handle not, nor taste, nor touch
Col 2:22 (all which things are to perish with the using), AFTER THE PRECEPTS AND DOCTRINES OF MEN?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Promised Land of the fruit of the Spirit and of the blessings of God
** The denial of oneself in the way of the cross is therefore NOT entry into a spiritual vacuum or entry into an altered state of consciousness. It is, in fact, entry into the inward ‘Promised Land’ of the soul in the glorious love, joy and peace of God. Divine knowledge, wisdom and understanding in the intimate knowledge of God and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints also reside here.
Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
** All God’s spiritual blessings also belong in this heavenly place.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Eph 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
The perfect man in Christ is not given the works of the flesh
** If you have been inspired to read up to this point and have not become dull of hearing, then you should readily understand that the denial of oneself in order to do the will of God on earth as it is in heaven, does indeed open up the kingdom of God within believers. At anytime, as a spiritual adult in Christ, that you consider yourself above others, you recognize that the self has NOT been denied.
Phi 2:1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,
Phi 2:2 make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
Phi 2:3 doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;
Phi 2:4 not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
Phi 2:5 Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Phi 2:6 who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Phi 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;
Phi 2:8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
** When a reprimand from a colleague or a stern reply from a spouse or a taunt from a person of another race or any manifestation of the works of the flesh fail to conquer the love, peace, sound mind and joy of the believer, spiritual adulthood has been attained.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Conclusion in the grace, love and power of God
2Co 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
