Dear Daystar Team,

Prior to the presidential election I had received a message on the Internet from Dutch Sheets (I'm sure many Christians are familiar with this prayer alert for the nation letter). I received it as being a word from God, and sent it to several people and a couple of pastors. My husband and I also attended a prayer event hosted by CityNet in Washington DC prior to the elections to pray for our nation. Prior to this, I have never cared much who won the elections, so this was unusual for me to be so burdened with the upcoming elections.

A couple of weeks ago, (after the Nov. 7th election), I had the following dream.

I dreamt I was in a large room where a cocktail party was going on. I was talking with someone and they asked me if I would like to meet Al Gore. I said sure, and was ushered to him (Mr. Gore) for an opportunity to meet him. When I shook hands with him, my comment was "Mr. Gore, I thought you were much taller. You're so short". In my dream I was slightly taller than him, and I also noticed when we shook hands that his suit was too big for him in the shoulders! End of dream.

Now we know that in the natural, Mr. Gore strikes a very intimidating pose! (He is quite tall, with broad shoulders etc.). I believe this dream is saying that Mr. Gore will NOT be our next president, and his political future will be greatly diminished (his being short, and wearing a suit too big).

I am a bit hesitant to send this in to you, because I want to be very careful. I am quite new at receiving dreams from the Lord, and I do not want to assume that every dream I have is from the Lord. I know that one has to be very careful before saying "God told me this." On the other hand, in learning to discern God's voice, I feel the need to "step out in faith" and believe that what I'm hearing and learning, is indeed from Him. Do you think this is "just a dream" or a word from God???

Thank you for your humble heart and healthy "fear of the Lord." As to where this dream is from the Lord or not, we shall soon (I hope) find out! It will be such a great blessing when you know that you heard the Lord. ====================================

11/19/00 USA Election/Reflection of Church?

I believe this dream is related to the presidential election fiasco in the USA.

First scene: I went into my backyard and I was horrified at what I saw. I was also surprised to find out that this situation even existed and didn't know how it could have happened. I seemed to feel that it may have been my fault. There were two baby elephants, who were all shriveled up as though they had died of dehydration and malnutrition. They were laying on their sides and in a position as though they had been struggling to get out of the mud they were stuck in which was all dried up too.

I wondered who was supposed to be caring for these elephants and wondered if I could revive them by soaking them with lots of water from the garden hose. If they could be revived, then what could I feed them? All I had was some canned dog food and some dry kibble bits that I could mix together for them. I wondered if elephants would be able to digest this kind of food?

*note: since elephants are the symbol for the Republican party, I wonder if the two baby elephants represent George Bush and Dick Chaney, presidential and vice presidential candidates?

Second scene: I knew there was a monkey that lived in a two story house, either on the same property or next door. This was not clear. I went into our house and I saw my husband take the monkey (the monkey appeared to look more like a baby because it was hairless) and dunk its behind into the cold water in the toilet. The monkey let out a forlorn sounding cry, as its body hit the cold water. I felt sorry for it and asked my husband what he thought he was doing and he said that he was going to give it a bath. I was beside myself with disbelief that he thought he could bathe it in a toilet. I told him that the monkey should be treated with kindness by giving it a bath in the sink with warm water.

*note: Even though a donkey represents the Democrats, I wonder in this case, if the dream is revealing that the democratic candidate has been behaving like a baby monkey, monkeys being symbolic for monkey business; foolishness; mischief; dishonesty?.

Could the dream be saying that the Republican party is in need of being "revived" and the Democratic party in need of "cleansing," and is there a correlation between these two political parties and the two factions of the Church (old and new order) which are still at odds with each other at this time? If so, then we can probably expect that the same fiasco going on between the parties, will get just as crazy with the Church in the USA. What did I miss?
