CIRCUMSTANCES
Last night was the second night of the seminars
in Tavua, Fiji, where
I was teaching the folks to hear God credibly.
At the end of the
session, Pastor Isikeli Ratu prayed for the
political situation in Fiji.
DREAM
I was with a group of folks who were like
my family. We were doing
something together.
>From here I went to the place of political
activity in Fiji as if
just to check it out. When I came back I told
the folks that if I
investigated the things that were happening,
I would be put in jail by
“the powers that be.”
I reported on the fact that “the powers that
be” have taken complete
control and have carefully chosen leadership
in order to shore up a
powerful iron grip on political power. Leadership
was already chosen
from different constituencies and from different
areas of political
life so that absolute control of political
power was complete. Even
leadership down to the level of University
students was chosen and
incorporated. I reported that absolute control
of political power was
such that when a major decision was made that
would attract the
attention of the International Community,
even the leader of the most
prominent Indo-Fijian party or leader of the
Indian community would
agree. I felt that there was now just a passive
towing of the line by
the Indo-Fijian community and leadership in
order to maintain peace,
so that Fiji could climb out of its political,
economic and social
crisis.
** The above passage of the dream does not
need interpretation as it
is the situation in real life.
SCENE CHANGE
Then I was in a soccer team playing an opposition
in a sports oval. It
appears that my team was made up of Fijians
and the opposition was
made up of Indo-Fijians. This was not a major
competition, nor a club
competition but just a community activity.
** A community competition does point to the
Fiji elections which will
basically be battled along racial lines.
The match was quite a competitive one and I
felt that we should really
win it easily because of our ability. One
particular good move could
not be converted. Then we were able to score
a goal.
** The Fijians will still need to fight hard
for the elections despite
their obvious advantage. A particular Fijian
political move will fail
yet the Fijians will still be ahead.
Another time I received the ball and dribbled
it down to the right
side of the field. I went too far so that
the angle to the goal posts was
too acute. I had to bring the ball back a
small distance in order to have
the goal posts opening up a little more, and
then I booted the ball
into the nets. The score was 2 to us and nil
to the opposition when I woke
up.
** Another particular Fijian right wing move
will back peddle into
moderation and this will cause it to win the
elections.
===================================
Wednesday night, I took a combined cell groups
meeting at my brother’s
place for the English speaking Full Gospel
AOG church. The folks were
so blessed and I was blessed also because
they were drawing hungrily from
the ministry. A 1 hour session extended to
2 1/2 hours. As the folks
left, the senior pastor said that he would
like to visit the next
morning. The next morning the senior pastor
and his two assistant
pastors turned up with a guitar and their
Bibles. I taught them the
song written by Susan Riddle, “I owe everything
to you.”
After learning the song the pastor looked at
me and asked in a very
respectful Fijian way and speaking in Fijian,
if he could ask me a
favour. I was taken back and wondered what
to expect. He asked me to
teach them some more! No wonder they had brought
their Bibles. I then
began to teach the 3 pastors and my brother.
Thank you Daystars for
your prayers! The pastors were still hanging
around after we finished about
3 hours later so I offered to take them to
lunch at the senior pastor’s
new restaurant in town. I felt the liberty
to create a “Daystar
Talatala’s entertainment allowance” for this
special occasion. Well,
our fellowship really was like a Daystar fellowship
after a great Sunday
meeting. Only this time the fellowship harmonized
and resonated deep
into my cultural and family roots.
WEDNESDAY 30TH MAY
Well, the seminar was just something else.
Except for a just a moment
of time, when I thought about how my Fijian
language sounded so perfect
and I immediately reverted to my real ability
without the anointing, the
seminar took on a life of itself. At one stage,
as I spoke slowly and
deliberately in prophecy on what God was doing
in the Christian
nations as reflected in the USA under George
Bush and in Fiji at the moment, I
could significantly see that the people were
waiting on and feeding on
every spoken word of my mouth. I don’t think
that I have quite
experienced the gravity of that period of
time before. In short, the
seminar was just wonderful. Afterwards
the presiding pastor
exclaimed, “This is renewal time!” Glory to
God! I am now really thinking about
that dream where I was running alone and the
topography and soil moved
as though sound waves were being generated
in the land! Yes, the
ramifications of the ministry of this trip
is going to reverberated
throughout Fiji. Thanks for your prayers and
thoughts!
THURS 31ST MAY 10:50pm
Just got back from the second seminar. Hey!
God is doing something
really special in this church. A short dream
that woke me up this
morning had this Fijian man declaring, “Oqo
na veivakavoui” (This is
the refreshing). So the meeting started off
with Isa 28:9-12. It was just
an unusual time of great enlightenment as
this church embraced what the
Spirit is saying to it and what the Spirit
is doing in it. A pastor
and the senior pastor’s wife prophesied in
agreement that this is their
time of refreshing! Glory to God! They prayed
for me, my family and the
Daystar Team as they truly appreciate that
the ministry is not
possible without the whole Daystar Team.
FRIDAY 1ST JUNE 11:15pm
Had a wonderful conclusion to the seminars
tonight. The senior
pastor’s wife and the pastor second in charge
had dreams last night which bore
witness to and confirmed the teaching. How
do you describe a ministry
that deeply established the communication
of God with believers in
this church? Suffice it to say that the leadership
of this church and many
believers have now learned to be regularly
and directly taught and led
of the Spirit. The meeting concluded with
my prophecy from the dream I
had last night about the upcoming elections
and the future political
situation in Fiji.
MONDAY 4TH JUNE
Something real special happened
in the last couple of days - not the kind
of thing for sharing at church
meetings. My brother knows how much I love
to eat a particular kind of
fish called in Fijian, the “Ta.” I have never
seen this kind of fish
in Australia and had asked Lavinia about it
and she doesn’t seem to have
seen it either from up North. Well, my brother
went to the market on
Saturday morning to get one but there was
none there. Independently of
my brother I went after lunch to the fish
market and there was none
there either.
Sunday morning I caught an express bus from
Lautoka to Nadi to take
the morning meeting at a fairly large Fijian
church near the Airport (Nadi
Airport Assembly of God). I guess that by
now you folks know that God
is working wonderfully here in Fiji through
the ministry and I don’t like
to report similar things at every meeting.
Suffice it to say that the
senior pastor told me after the meeting that
a certain prominent
business woman in the church who had not heard
of me before was so
amazed and blessed that she asked the pastor
where he found me? The
pastor just pointed up to the sky. Generally,
the whole church was
moved and inspired as they drank deep of the
spirit and life of the
ministry. At the meeting the senior pastor
told the people that not
only did he hear what I ministered, he also
saw a new direction for the
church to follow.
Fiji is blessed with Spiritually motivated
churches (Fijians in rock
pools in the stream that I was climbing in
one of my dreams before
leaving for this trip). This church is one
of them. I was again
weeping in a couple of their songs and particularly
the one immediately before
I walked on to the pulpit. The words were
about Jesus my Saviour and the
One who directs my paths. Sung in Fijian it
pierced and watered deep
into my soul! It also prepared and poured
the holy anointing for the
work of the ministry. In one session I was
able to minister the
message adequately! The Lord is simply, WONDERFUL!!!
This is the first time that the senior pastor
has heard me directly
and he now wants to arrange my itinerary for
the next time the Lord sends
Daystar to Fiji. He wants every church to
get a hold of this ministry!
Anyhow, back to the “Ta” story. After the meeting,
the senior pastor
(Ps Savenaca Ratumaiyale) invited me home
for lunch. He told me that when
he came home yesterday afternoon, someone
had brought a large fish and
left it at his house. Someone else had brought
some of the quality ‘taro”
variety (which I also love) and left it at
his house. The fish was
none other than my favourite and elusive “Tar.”
We had a really good Fijian
laugh (very loud!) when I told him about my
brother’s attempt and my
attempt to find a “Tar” yesterday. We both
knew immediately that the
Lord’s hand was at work here! There is blessing
after blessing when we
walk with the Lord and He has His own ways
of providing intimately and
pleasurably for his servants.
My voice is half gone from preaching in the
Fijian way (very loud!)
and I now have 5 days break (divinely ordained
break) before the last very
busy leg of the trip which begins at Pacific
Harbour (between Suva and
Sigatoka) next Sunday. Thank you all for your
co-labouring prayers and
thoughts towards this wonderful work of the
ministry. It won’t be long
before our work here is done and the Lord
begins to send us to another
nation where the Internet is not readily available
to the masses.
