Another exciting study of the credibility of
Christian dreams in proclaiming things to come concerning the end of August
general elections in the nation of Fiji. Dream, interpretation and documentation
by Paula.
THE PROCLAMATION as posted in June on D&V List No.577
D&V List No 577
Date: Tuesday 5 June 2001
I REPORTED THAT ABSOLUTE CONTROL OF POLITICAL POWER WAS SUCH THAT WHEN A MAJOR DECISION was made that would attract the attention of the International Community, even the leader of the most prominent Indo-Fijian party or leader of the Indian community would agree. I felt that there was now just a passive towing of the line by the Indo-Fijian community and leadership in order to maintain peace, so that Fiji could climb out of its political, economic and social crisis. Dream and interpretation by Paula on 1st June, 2001.
CIRCUMSTANCES
Last night was the second night of the seminars
in Tavua, Fiji, where I was teaching the folks to hear God credibly. At
the end of the session, Pastor Isikeli Ratu prayed for the political situation
in Fiji with regards to preparation for the general elections at the end
of August following the coup in May, 2000.
DREAM
I was with a group of folks who were like my
family. We were doing something together.
From here I went to the place of political activity in Fiji as if just to check it out. When I came back I told the folks that if I investigated the things that were happening, I would be put in jail by “the powers that be.”
I reported on the fact that “the powers that be” have taken complete control and have carefully chosen leadership in order to shore up a powerful iron grip on political power. Leadership was already chosen from different constituencies and from different areas of political life so that absolute control of political power was complete. Even leadership down to the level of University students was chosen and incorporated.
** The above passage of the dream does not need interpretation as it shows the situation in real life.
SCENE CHANGE
Then I was in a soccer team playing an opposition
in a sports oval. It appears that my team was made up of Fijians and the
opposition was made up of Indo-Fijians. This was not a major competition,
nor a club competition but just a community activity.
** A community competition does point to the Fiji elections which will basically be battled along racial lines.
The match was quite a competitive one and I felt that we should really win it easily because of our ability. One particular good move could not be converted. Then we were able to score a goal.
** The native Fijians will still need to fight hard for the elections despite their obvious advantage because of the constitution. A particular Fijian political move will fail yet the Fijians will be ahead with regards to leadership of the nation.
Another time I received the ball and dribbled it down to the right side of the field. I went too far so that the angle to the goal posts was too acute. I had to bring the ball back a small distance in order to have the goal posts opening up a little more, and then I booted the ball into the nets. The score was 2 to us and nil to the opposition when I woke up.
** Another particular Fijian right wing movement will back peddle into moderation and this will cause it to win the elections.
** The two goals to nil refer to two native Fijian
parties that will establish a native Fijian Prime Minister and the Indo-Fijian
parties will not be able to feature in the office of Prime Minister.

In relation to my dream about the Fiji elections, these latest articles may indicate that the dream is on track for fulfillment. We shall see - heart attack stuff!!! Thought you folks might be interested!
Paula
Total number of seats being contested = 70
Latest figures from fijilive web site:
FLP (Chaudhry)
= 25 (Indo-Fijian Party)
SDL (Qarase)
= 17 (Native Fijian Party)
Conservative Alliance (CA) =
8 (Native Fijian Party that includes coup leader George Speight)
Others
= ?
The two Fijian parties/goals in my dream amay
be SDL and CA. If these two
form an alliance with other parties then the
Indian hope will not feature in the next government as leader. When I was
in Fiji I did identify SDL as the Fijian Party of my dream. The dream also
said that this was going to be a tough contest run on a racial basis.
The native Fijian party that lost out in my dream is related to the second news article below. Thought you folks might like to know what is happening.

Free Speight: Conservatives
Thursday, September 06, 2001
Conservative Alliance leader Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure says he will be part of a Government that will agree to free George Speight and others charged with treason.
Ratu Rakuita says Speight's democratic win to
Parliament proves that what he
did on May 19 was supported by his vanua. "Speight
is not a terrorist but a political-prisoner and he must be freed," Ratu
Rakuita said He says if Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) wants a coalition
with Conservative Alliance, then they have to pay heed to their demands.
"We want a Fijian Prime Minister and that is why
we would prefer SDL but if
Mr Qarase doesn't agree with us, we will talk
to other people...whoever needs
support to form the next Government," Ratu Rakuita
said.
Last night, when asked if he would prefer to work
with the Labour Party, Ratu Rakuita said," If Chaudhry forms the next Government,
he invites us, under the provisions of the Constitution, he will have to
consider some of our
conditions. "So our doors are open to Mr Chaudhry...
for dialogue and negotiations."
The party's other conditions include: a review of the Constitution; compensation for landowners and a review of legislations that control the commercial use of the native resources.
As this edition went to press, Conservative Alliance had eight seats. They are predicting to win 10 seats.

Fall from grace
Thursday, September 06, 2001
Several prominent politicians in the Western Division
have failed to secure a
place for themselves in Parliament after their
defeat in the general election and this, for them, may be their last hurrah.
Many of them have been Fijian politicians who had achieved high public
posts either as ministers or as members of Parliament. They suffered heavy
defeats in the general election against relative unknowns.
Political pundits in the Western Division had predicted an end to their political careers, saying the approach they used had little relevance to the grassroots people and seemed to distant and uninterested in the social and economic problems they faced.
The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua was a significant
player, making deep
in-roads into the Western Division through a
simple approach to basic issues
that appealed to voters.
Deposed Deputy Prime Minister Adi Kuini Speed,
Ratu Tevita Momoedonu,
Ponipate Lesavua, Meli Bogileka and Apisai Tora
had to bow out unlamented, it seemed. But many people around the country
still cannot believe these politicians had lost the election.
Adi Kuini is also the leader of the Fijian Association
Party and her defeat may
require FAP to look for a new leader. With only
2911 votes, she lost to SDL's Pio Wong who received 7291 votes on the fifth
count to take the Serua/Namosi Open seat…

THE FULFILLMENT - from www.fijilive.com
Qarase sworn in as PM
Monday, September 10, 2001
Laisenia Qarase was sworn in as Fiji's Prime Minister
at 10 this morning by
President Ratu Josefa Iloilo at the Government
Housein Suva.
This was despite his party, the Soqosoqo Duavata
ni Lewenivanua (SDL) not
having the majority to form a government yet.
A party would require 37 seats
to form a government. Speaking at a press conference
Qarase says he will be
making an offer to the Fiji Labour Party leader
Mahendra Chaudhry today to
join his Cabinet as required under the Constitution. But
he reiterated that he
will be happy if Chaudhry does not accept.
Qarase says talks are continuing with the smaller
parties to join the
government. Asked whether it was legal to be
sworn in as PM without having
the majority, Qarase said it was perfectly legal
on the basis that he had been
given the support from the majority number in
the House of Representatives.
SDL has 31 seats.
The party is currently talking with the two independents
and the Conservative
Alliance which has six seats and who are "all
waiting to come in". Qarase said
having Chaudhry in his Cabinet would "make an
unworkable government"…
