The interpretation of the vocabulary and language of dreams and visions from God needs to have a standard so that each prophetic Christian can have a measure by which he or she can judge the credibility and message of the dream or vision. There is no better standard or measure than the standard and measure of the words of the Bible from which The Spirit of Truth would reveal the meaning. The words and phrases of the Bible which are used in our dreams and visions given of God are referred to as "scriptural vocabulary" in our book on Dreams and Visions. We have proven over the years that the meaning of any scriptural vocabulary used in our dreams and visions can be derived from the meaning of their use in the Bible. Biblical language and vocabulary for storms and tidal waves overwhelmingly represent judgment

The Christian standard of the written Word of God, The Bible, is subscribed to by all credible Christian denominations, groups or ministries. If we need guidance for the interpretation of God given dreams, visions and, then we should not forsake the Bible for our own earthly opinions, desires or needs, just to be in agreement with the status quo within prophetic Christendom.

Even a casual study from the Bible of "storms" and tidal "waves," in the context of inspired prophecy, dreams and visions, will show that they basically represent judgment. It stands to reason therefore that the frightening and destructive storms and tidal waves that Christians are receiving all over the world in the 1990’s represent the judgment of God upon Christendom first and foremost.

It appears that many are interpreting the storms and tidal waves of dreams and visions as symbolic of the outpourings of God's blessings. Others are saying that they represent both blessings and judgment. What does the standard and measure of the Bible and the Spirit of Truth say?

The rest of this page is devoted to bringing to the reader’s attention the fact that the frightening and destructive storms and tidal waves of our dreams and visions are, in fact, warnings of God's judgment coming upon Christendom first and also upon the nations. The headings of the following study of relevant scriptures will help us to grasp the reasons and the purposes for the judgment of God as represented by storms and tidal waves.

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.

Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

Dream about a huge wave of destruction received by Peter Taylor on 4th May 1995

We (the family) were holidaying on the New South Wales coast of Australia I think. The previous day the sea had been rough and dangerous, but this day the sea seemed to have settled down, so people were out on the beach. We had come out of our holiday apartment and we were on the beach too. But the waves were still rather big.

While watching the waves I noticed a huge wave approaching. It was enormous. I ran for the apartment knowing that even this would be hopeless. I ran through the glass doors at the front of the building with the intention of running right through and out the back and as far as I could.

While running through the building, I could see the water splashing and smashing into the building on the outside. When inside I thought about my family and that they’ll all be lost. But then I thought that I too would be killed as this wave was ferocious. I thought how could anyone survive this wave of destruction.

Dream of the great storm breaking down the buildings received by Paula M. Cavu on 6th Feb 1996

I was in a city made up of all different kinds of housing architecture. The people of the city and I were looking at a great storm that was heading ominously in our direction. This storm was actually breaking the buildings down as in an earthquake. This meant that the wise had to think fast in the midst of the panic as to how to protect themself from this storm.

I quickly decided to abandon the buildings and run into the open park so the breaking and falling buildings would not fall on me. On reaching the park I decided to shelter behind a tree.

God's stormy wind and waves are to cause His people to cry out to Him so that He may save them and bring them unto their desired haven

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Dream of the storm that is coming with the purpose to establish righteousness, received by Don Carney from Canada on 20th April 1995

"I'm in a van with my wife Dale and some guy from Australia. We're parked out the front of a grocery store which Dale runs into to buy food. The guy and I eat some lunch which leaves a lot of crumbs on the van floor, so I brush them out through the open door. At the same time, I look up and I see clouds rolling in (we're on an elevated level to see this). I see billions of white balloons which are being blown in with the storm (from the west of Canada to the east). I may have wondered in my dream how they travelled all the way from Australia to Canada. Then I share my testimony with the fellow of where I have come from and what God has been doing in my life (i.e. we have been blessed big time by God at Toronto, only 4 hours away)."

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

God's tabernacle of protection and comfort upon His separated people refined from the storms and waves of judgment

When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Dream about ocean waves building up momentum, received by Gavin Porter on 10th July 1995

There was an extremely large set of closely spaced ocean waves with very high crests and very deep troughs. It was as if I was within these waves with no fear of them at all. The impression I had was that these waves were building momentum and were moving forward, and I was moving with them.

Dream about the big steel shed that would protect us from the storm, received by Lavinia Taylor on 26th Dec.1996

I was on this island. It felt like Thursday Island (T.I.). I stayed in this house for a few days. There was news going around that there was a storm coming, so we (the ones that were on the same boat going over to T.I.) went down to the wharf. One of the young ladies saw me and asked me how come she never saw me at night in town. I told her I stayed home with the family. There were two wharves there. On the first wharf there were people boarding a boat. They were going back to their islands. They weren’t heeding the warning of the coming storm. They saw that the sky was clear blue. I asked a man if anyone had warned these people and the man said everyone on the island was warned.

We then walked to the other wharf where some of the people who felt the heat were jumping into the water to cool off. The water was clear blue around this wharf. Then this man, who was a leader, was doing a roll call to make sure everyone was there. So we had to get into a group. I was the leader of our group.

After checking everyone, we all headed back to our houses to get ready to move to a big steel shed that would protect us from the storm, as the house that we were staying in was made from straw and it would not stand the storm. There was a man on the beach securing all the dinghies and boats that needed securing. The tide was a king tide.

God's warning that His tempest of hail, destroying storm and flood of mighty waters overflowing shall cast down the pride of them that are overcome with wine

Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.

In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people.

God's judgment in "the spirit of deep sleep" upon God's people who are drunken and stagger but not with wine

Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

The spirit of deep sleep causes the eyes and understanding to be asleep to the hidden manna of the language of the Spirit in bible prophecy, dreams and visions

And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

God's judgment comes because God's people will not come to Him to be directly given His thoughts and His ways concerning His will and purpose

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

God's judgment upon His people will be followed by the lifting of "the spirit of deep sleep" so that the people will then partake of God's hidden manna of the language of bible prophecy, dreams and visions

Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

In a dream in 1981 I was asked to go and take a meeting at a church. I did not have time to prepare anything but I just went. The people had filled the church by the time I arrived. We progressed through praise and worship and then I was called up to minister. As I walked up, I was totally trusting the Holy Spirit to reveal things to teach as I just opened my mouth. This was the way of ministering that I had cultivated in my walk with the Holy Ghost. I was confident that all will be well because the Holy Spirit has always been faithful.

Being young in the ministry I was quite excited and was very enthusiastic to get going in ministering by the revelation of God. I asked the Lord for a scripture and I got Mark 11:10 in my mind. I then asked for someone in the congregation to stand up and read Mark 11:10. No one volunteered so I asked again. Still no one stood up. I pointed to a man and asked him to read the scripture. He replied that he didn't have a Bible. I pointed to another person and he said that he couldn't read. I was getting apprehensive about the progress of the meeting by now. I spied out a lady with her Bible opened so I asked her to read the passage. She made out to read but then she fell silent with a curious look on her face, as if she couldn't read it.

In desperation I picked up my Bible, turned to Mark 11:10 to read and I was astounded. I couldn't read the Bible either. Instead of seeing words in the Bible I was seeing symbols, rather like the hieroglyphic writing system on walls of ancient Egypt. Prominent were the faces of a lamb, an ox, a lion, an eagle and a man.

Dream of the glass roof that cannot be shaken which was revealed during the great shaking, received by Paula M. Cavu on 12th May 1993

I was in this dormitory in a large housing complex, rather like the dormitory in my old school hostel. There were many people there.

We were in the midst of a series of great shakings by earthquakes. The wall that faced my bed was made of glass. As people positioned themselves to brace themselves against the earthquake, one man came and sat with his back against the glass wall. When the earthquake or shaking struck, the glass shattered making a circular hole where the man's head was. The glass fell on the man's head, cut him and killed him.

I noticed a leader or pastor who was looking after a congregation of children. He was panicky and very restless. He just kept moving the children from one place to another and just hoped that the shaking and the falling debris would not hit them. It was as if he didn't know what to do. He was without peace and without direction.

My elder brother, Ilaisa (worldly man), came and sat on one side of the glass wall before me. The shaking struck again and another hole was formed at his head when the glass shattered and splintered. The glass fell on his head, cut him and killed him.

I was then looking straight ahead from my bed. I could see the cracked glass wall and the two circular holes where the heads of the killed men were.

Then we all slept. I woke up in the night to find a man (Arthur Murray), who was tall and slim, also lying on my bed. I got up in a huff but I was told that the side of the dormitory with the glass wall was dangerous and that the men who belonged there had to find safer places to sleep.

I looked at the glass wall and then up to the roof of the house. To my surprise the ceiling or roof was made of glass, but a different kind of glass. It was obviously strong and thick glass which was able to withstand the shaking from the earthquake.

In this dream we are given an insight into the prophetic which is of fleshly wood, hay and stubble (glass wall that broke in the shaking) and which attracted the judgment of God. In the midst of the shaking by earthquake, the building (Church) was endowed with the divine prophetic that is of gold, silver and precious stones that could not be shaken ("strong and thick glass which was able to withstand the shaking from the earthquake").

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
