a workshop series for primary students, emphasising oral expression, creativity and traditional storytelling skills

- workshop content and length (from 45 to 90 mins) adapted for year level and desired outcomes

- works best with class size groups

content includes:
telling and creating stories with fun and ease,
learning stories to tell,
telling with movement, sound and feeling,
games and exercises to develop creativity and source stories,
individual, team and large group exercises

price - $4.00 per student with a minimum of $120 per session (series quotes for multiple sessions available on request)

requirements - indoor space - preferably carpetted such as cleared classroom, drama room or library space

'Spinning a web of creativity'

workshops or project sessions for primary students which explore narrative structure, enabling students to create and write stories for hard copy or web publication

content includes:
a told story as warm up (usually one created with similar age students)
demonstrating creating a new story using narrative structure
creating and building characters and settings
games and exercises to develop creativity and source stories,
individual, team and class exercises

- workshop content and length (usually from 45 - 90 mins) adapted for year level and desired outcomes

- works best with class size groups and with a series of sessions (2 -4) with teacher follow up in between

- can work with different themes eg animals or communities

- can be extended with illustration, animation, video and web design sessions

price - $4.00 per student with a minimum of $120 per session (series quotes for multiple sessions available on request)

requirements - indoor space - preferably carpetted such as cleared classroom, drama room or library space, white board (a data projector while not essential is useful). Teachers may wish to record improvised stories for class work.

'Bringing Stories Alive' - adults, staff, parents

workshops for adults (especially teachers, early childhood workers and librarians and parents) from 1 to 3 hrs long

- available for beginners and as refresher or training sessions for more experienced tellers

- also suitable for conferences and seminars

- notes and post workshop support provided

price - $75 per hour with a minimum of $150.00 per session (for approximately 30 participants ) quotes for sessions with larger numbers available on request

- conference and seminar talks, speeches and key note addresses available

requirements - clear room space with minimal distractions, preferably carpeted, chairs for participants (but not tables), white board (useful but not essential)

The above prices apply to Sth East Qld only. This includes:- Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane Valley and Toowoomba area. I welcome enquiries from other areas and am more than happy to provide a quote. This might include a component for travelling and accommodation or a request for assistance in obtaining a number of bookings in your area.
