Buy a Dremel tool.  They are the best things since sliced bread and will save you a lot of time.  For those who may not know what a Dremel tool is, it's a small rotary power tool that cuts, polishes, grinds, sands, engraves.................

I only just bought one and I wish I had it for when I was making my Vader costume.  It would've saved me so much time and anguish.
