The 1977 set is very much a product of the era featuring what is known as the "denim" design card. Each player card has a light blue denim pattern border with the club colours in a "button" in the bottom right corner. The player's name and playing position is in black at the base of the card and the club nickname is in white at the top. The reverse of each card features either a part of the famous Scanlens Grand Final puzzle or football tips for young players. Each of the 12 checklist cards again has an ad for the Scanlens Card Locker. They were available in packets with a stick of bubble gum from milk bars, newsagents and similar outlets. |

Issued on plastic strips attached to the bottom of Tip Top bread bags. A colour photo appears at the top with competition details appearing below. A poster was also issued with all twenty four players heads blank and their names jumbled up. The idea of the competition was to cut out all the photos from the plastic strips and stick them onto the poster in the appropriate place and identify the players. |

This set is similar in design to the 1968 set, however unlike the earlier series this time each card is uniform in colour, having a red oval shape around a profile shot of each player and a blue panel across the base. Club name is in black at the top, player name in yellow and position in white at the bottom of each card. On the reverse is either a piece of the Grand Final photo or a footy word puzzle. On the back of each of the 12 checklists there is a chance for collectors to win a club jumper. They were available in packets with a stick of bubble gum from milk bars, newsagents and similar outlets. |

A straightforward design is the hallmark of the '79 series with assorted colour schemes around the border - depending on club - with the player name in blue at the top and the club name down the left hand side. The back of the 156 player cards depict either part of the Grand Final photo puzzle or the "Magic Football Quiz" which previously appeared as part of the 1975 series.
