Welcome

In times past, so I've been told, the tired traveller would wend his weary way towards the beckoning light of a wayside inn where, with a friendly welcome by 'mine host', he/she would be given sustenance and a soft bed for the night.
Now, in times present, you dear traveller are a surfer on the electronic highway and I am your Hostess at this website of 'Rest and Relaxation'.
I bid you a courteous "Namaste" and ask only that you respond in like manner.
A few facts about myself: My husband Brian and I have two children - Charmaine and Alistair. Charmaine and her husband Christopher have 2 children, Christopher Timothy and Marcelle Rose born 14 Oct 2006, making us very proud grandparents.
I am an Anglo-Indian originally from South India, but now an Australian citizen living in Sunny Queensland (Oz) - beautiful one day, perfect the next!
I specialise in Anglo-Indian cuisine. My recently published book, 'From The Raj To The Taj' is currently being shipped worldwide, but is only available through me. ![]() (click for a larger image)
The price is $A20 (sorry, but postage is extra). Please click on the 'Cooking' link in the menu bar for further details. |
About four years ago my interest in tracing our family history became an obsession.
After an initial posting in 'India@rootsweb' I was pleasantly surprised to find a distant relative on my Mum's side.
Luckily for me, through this connection, I got to meet a cousin of my Mum's, a dear old lady aged 90 from Glasgow, who happened to be holidaying in Oz.
My search continues but is hampered by the name JOHN ... it appears there are too many John's who are sons of John!!! |
Clicking on this link, or on the menu bar above, will take you to a page where I list some of my favourite sites.
I have included this section because I feel strongly that Anglo-Indian sites, no matter what their content, ought to make the effort to link each other so that it makes it an enjoyable experience for the average visitor.
I have also managed to get the agreement of Terry Fletcher to use his 'QuickLinks' feature on the page, as his site, Anglo-Indian Portal, is currently under reconstruction. |
I am naturally very interested in our Community and regularly search the Cyber Highway for relevant information. Through this, I have 'met' many wonderful people, Anglo-Indians and others who I now call friends. I will be writing about this interest from time to time in my Blog (which has replaced the Bravenet Forum), and invite your views and travellers tales, which I will be happy to publish there. Please get in touch with me at this email address. I would love to hear from you. Till then, take care on this highway - please stay protected and do not catch any viruses or suffer from floppy disks. I shall keep the light of friendship glowing till we meet again. |
