THE DREAM
I am at the top of a ladder working on the edge of the roof on a 2 story
house. There is another house about 5' away and the ladder is leaning
up on the edge of the eaves.
My eldest daughter is on the roof and is stepping on the top of the
ladder and then going back and forth from one roof to the other. I
am telling her to be more careful but she does not seem to sense the
danger. She jumps across to the other roof but does not jump quite
hard enough and is leaning backwards. She fall straight back and
lands flat on her back on the hard ground/concrete. All is dead still
and then I watch her head sort of implode into itself and I wake up
in a panic.
** Being on top of the ladder and working on the roof portrays the work of your ministry in the prophetic. Here the roof depicts a place of revelation and is true particularly of Eastern accessible flat roofs; as it was with the Apostle Peter and his vision of the sheet with unclean animals. The top of the ladder also represents the place and means of fellowship and communion with heaven; as it was with Jacob’s dream at Bethel (Gen 28:12). The ladder represented Christ, mediator between heaven and earth under the New Testament Covenant (John 1:51).
Gen 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the
top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending
on it.
Gen 28:13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God
of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to
thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
Joh 1:51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
The question now is who or what does your eldest daughter in this dream represent? Circumstances in real life that led to this dream would help here. She could represent an aspect of your prophetic ministry or someone in your ministry. She could even portray a prophetic ministry elsewhere relating to you at the time or the prophetic in a church that you were ministering to at the time of the dream.
The dream is warning about such a prophetic ministry in that it is not genuine with regards to directly hearing from heaven. Rather it prophesies what it hears other prophets (roof of neighbour in the dream) are prophesying; as different from merely teaching what others are prophesying which is legitimate. References to the stealing of God’s words (jumping between the roofs) and the breaking of the rock in pieces by the genuine words of the Lord (daughter’s head imploding) in the following scripture makes it a companion to the dream. Judgment shall also fall upon the head of false prophets in these latter days.
Jer 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer
that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Jer 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that
STEAL MY WORDS EVERY ONE FROM HIS NEIGHBOR.
Emphatically implied in the nightmarish nature of the dream is the urging of the Lord for prophets to credibly and verifiably stand directly in the counsel of the Lord. Discipleship along these lines is a priority in the work of the Spirit at this time.
Jer 23:18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived
and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
Jer 23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous
whirlwind: IT SHALL FALL GRIEVOUSLY UPON THE HEAD OF THE WICKED.
Jer 23:20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and
till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: IN THE LATTER DAYS YE SHALL
CONSIDER IT PERFECTLY.
Jer 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to
them, yet they prophesied.
Jer 23:22 BUT IF THEY HAD STOOD IN MY COUNSEL, AND HAD CAUSED MY PEOPLE TO
HEAR MY WORDS, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from
the evil of their doings.
Jer 23:23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Jer 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith
the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
1Jo 2:27 But THE ANOINTING which ye have received of him ABIDETH IN YOU, and
ye need not that any man teach you: but as THE SAME ANOINTING TEACHETH YOU
OF ALL THINGS, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in him.
1Jo 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear,
we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
