CONSTANTINE PHIPPS HENVILLE

Constantine Phipps HENVILLE was born in 1807 at Chideock, Dorsetshire, England to Richard John HENVILLE & Mary SMITH.

I have the HENVILLE pedigree going back to Matthew HENVILL born c1603 in the Dorsetshire area in England.

Constantine married Ann BROWN on the 11th February 1930 at Chideock, Dorsetshire, England (source: Dorset Marriage Bishop transcripts).

Ann BROWN was born before 25th February 1810 (date she was baptised) in Chideock, Dorsetshire, England to William & Ann BROWN. Ann died or left sometime between 1841 (the birth of her last child) and 1846 in England when Constantine remarried.

Constantine HENVILLE remarried Mary Anne KNIGHT around the quarter of September 1846 in Bridport, Dorsetshire, England. Mary Anne was born in 1801 in Dorsetshire to George & Mary Ann KNIGHT.

Ship

Constantine & Mary Anne HENVILLE came out to Australia aboard the ship "Bolton" arriving in Sydney on the 23rd June 1853.

Constantine had brought out his three children from his marriage to Ann Brown - Mary Benedicta; Anne Brune; and Charles Brune. The fourth child, William Brune HENVILLE, had died as a baby in Chideock, Dorsetshire, England.

The ship had originated in Plymouth, England on the 22nd February 1853.

During the journey in 1853 the "Bolton" ran aground on the north-west part of Margaret Sand on the night of the 29th January, but came off. Next morning, she ran aground again, on the north-east section and was assisted off. She had been in the Channel, where she slipped from her anchor and chain. She did not appear to have been damaged, as she wasn't taking on any water.

Passed on 5th Mayv1853 via Cape of Good Hope

Dr Roberts - surgeon superintendent on board the "Bolton". The ship had 271 emigrants aboard.
