SAMUEL MILLER & MARY MILLER

Samuel MILLER and Mary MILLER are my maternal 4^th Great Grandparents.

Their daughter, Catherine MILLER, is my 3^rd Great Grandmother who married William Thomas BLOW.

Samuel MILLER was born on the 4^th May 1798 at Tullyalnish[?], County Donegal, Ireland.

Samuel & Mary arrived in Sydney, Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on the 3^rd October 1838. The ship originated in Londonderry, Northern Ireland on the 3^rd June 1838. They brought out 6 of their children with them. Two older children came out separately on their own to Australia.

Mary MILLER was born in February 1802 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. They married in County Donegal, Ireland before they came out to Australia.

Samuel - Age: 40 yrs. Native Place: Tullyalnish, Donegal, Ireland. Occupation: Agriculturalist. Religion: Presbyterian.

Apparently Samuel & Mary are first(?) cousins, which would mean that John Miller (Samuel MILLER's dad) and Joshua Miller (Mary MILLER's dad) were brothers. [This is yet to be proven].

Samuel was a farmer and the family settled on NSW South Coast in the Wollongong area.

Samuel MILLER died on the 18^th August 1861 at Spring Hill, Wollongong NSW Australia. He is buried at the Presbyterian Burial Ground, Wollongong. Samuel's cause of death was "Ascots". (source: NSW Death Reg. 5257/1861)

Mary MILLER died on the 4^th July 1869 at Spring Hill, Wollongong NSW Australia. She is buried also at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Wollongong. Mary's cause of death was "Old Age". (Source: NSW Death Reg. 6614/1869)

Samuel & Mary MILLER had 8 children:

- Catherine born November 1819 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Catherine came to Australia on a different ship, "Palmyra" that arrived in Sydney on the 26^th September 1838. Catherine married William Thomas BLOW on 21^st October 1840 at Dapto NSW. Catherine then married John COOK on 5^th February 1873 at Kiama NSW Australia. She died 12^th Jun 1911 at Brownlow Hill, Camden NSW Australia.

- Mary born 1816 at Ramelton, Donegal, Ireland. She married George McPAUL in 1836 at Donegal, Ireland. They came out to Australia aboard the ship "Herald" arriving in Sydney on 10^th January 1844. Mary died on 20^th February 1886 at Berkeley NSW Australia.

- Anne born May 1823 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Arrived in Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on 3^rd October 1838 with her parents. Age: 15yrs.

- Joshua born Nov 1825 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Arrived in Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on 3^rd October 1838 with his parents. Age: 12yrs. He died in 1904 in Sydney NSW. Not sure if he married or not.

- William born Jan 1828 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Arrived in Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on 3^rd October 1838 with his parents. Age: 10yrs.

- Sarah born Nov 1831 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Arrived in Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on 3^rd October 1838 with her parents. Age: 6yrs. She married Thomas Hall JAMES in 1862 Wollongong NSW Australia.

- Jane born Nov 1833 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Arrived in Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on 3^rd October 1838 with her parents. Age: 4yrs.

- Susan born May 1836 at Leck, County Donegal, Ireland. Arrived in Australia aboard the ship "Parland" on 3^rd October 1838 with her parents. Age: 2yrs. Susan married Edward GIBSON in 1861 Wollongong NSW. Susan died 1909 in Wollongong.
