WILLIAM LOVETT & MARY ANN SHEPHARD

William LOVETT and Mary Ann SHEPHARD are my maternal 4^th Great Grandparents.

Their daughter, Caroline Ann LOVETT, is my 3^rd Great Grandmother who married Ernest Albert HOWARD.

William LOVETT was born on 10^th April 1843 at Harrow Weald, Middlesex, England to William LOVETT & Sarah DRAKE.

Mary Ann SHEPHARD was born in 1841 at Highgate, London, Middlesex, England to John & Ann SHEPHARD.

William & Mary Ann married on 10^th October 1864 at St Pancras, London, Middlesex, England.

William & Mary Ann LOVETT had 4 children in England before immigrated to Australia aboard the ship "Bengal" that arrived in Melbourne, VIC Australia on 30^th April 1871. (Source: Fiche 302, Page 002) The ship had left Plymouth, England. One of their children, Annie, had died previously in England, so they brought out their 3 remaining children:

William LOVETT died 27 Mar 1874 in Melbourne VIC Australia (Source: VIC Death Reg.1874 / 2774). William is buried at the Melbourne General Cemetery.

Mary Ann LOVETT (nee SHEPHARD) remarried to William SERGEANT on 14^th Feb 1879 at Registrar General Office, Melbourne VIC Australia.

Mary Ann SERGEANT (nee SHEPHARD) died on 8^th May 1909 at Prahran VIC Australia. (Source: VIC Death Reg.6452/1909)

She is buried in the Melbourne General Cemetery.

William & Mary Ann LOVETT had 6 children:

- William Henry born 1864 in London, England. Came to Australia with his parents aboard the ship "Bengal". Aged 7. William married Louisa FOSTINEO in 1884 in VIC Australia. Henry died in 1948 at Kew VIC Australia.

- Annie born about 1865 in London, England. Annie died in England before the family immigrated to Australia in 1871.

- Caroline Ann born 1868 in Middlesex, England. Came to Australia with her parents aboard the ship "Bengal". Aged 3. She is my 3^rd Great Grandmother who married Ernest Albert HOWARD on 23^rd December 1889 at Fitzroy VIC Australia. Caroline remarried Charles Edward KAYLL on 2^nd Feb 1907 in Victoria. Caroline died 14^th February 1952 at Kensington VIC Australia, and was cremated at Fawkner Crematorium.

- Henry John born 1870 Islington, London, England. He came to Australia with his parents aboard the ship "Bengal". Aged 1. Henry married Helen STOKES on 29^th April 1898 at Wagga Wagga NSW. Henry died 14^th June 1944 at Ivanhoe VIC Australia.

- Sarah Ann born 27 Apr 1872 at Geelong VIC Australia. She married Frederick George ADOLPHSON in 1891 in VIC Australia. Sarah died 24^th June 1927 at Ferntree Gully VIC Australia.

- George Arthur born 29 Aug 1874 at North Melbourne VIC Australia.
