Tests result of the sulfur based  Zhongzhou Medical Ointment - ZZ Cream

This page shows a few photos of some tests I made with sulfur based  Zhongzhou Medical Ointment - ZZ Cream and what affect it had on my rosacea.

Some Background

When I first applied ZZ cream back in late 2007, I noticed dramatic improvement to my rosacea after the first 1 to 2 weeks. The ointment was applied once every day to 1 week for one  week and reduced it to every second day the following week.  My rosacea was so improved I further reduced applications to approximately once every 4 days. For the next month my rosacea remained in this mild state (no bumps, and only slight redness under certain physical conditions). After that I stopped application all together to see if my skin would remain clearer. I don't have any records, but the rosacea did slowly return over the next month or two and I was applying it sporadically over the next year. Over the years of living with  rosacea and trying to determine the environmental factors that affect my rosacea, I had found a relationship with general stress, eating habits like too much sugars, dried fruits, and wheat products. Over that period I do remember these factors accelerating the return my rosacea with the absence of ZZ cream.

The Test

To prove that the sulfur ointment was improving my rosacea, I decided to only apply to one side of my face. For 2 months I applied it exclusively to the right half of my face at a rate of  3 times a week on average. Interestingly the rosacea on my left was also improving ,but only slightly. After the 2 months I completely stopped applying the ointment to let my rosacea naturally progress. About 1 month later I noticed the side I applied the ointment had remained clear, while the other side became worse. The differences between each half of my face was very significant. At this time I have taken photos and posted them below.
