Sign on at the Downey Park desk at least 15 minutes prior to the game you're umpiring. (Even if you are only "ON CALL", you still need to let the Downey Park officials know you are there 15 minutes before!) If the game you are umpiring is immediately after the game you're playing, you must sign on BEFORE you play! If you do not do this you may be fined $52!
Check the players fingernail lengths and ensure no jewellery is present. Check that there is a scorer and inform the two teams they need to toss for the first centre pass. At the end of the game, sign the score card.
Remember: Be confident in your umpiring! You play the game and you know the rules!
After you've completed your duty, sign the board at the Aspley tent next to your name and the duty you've just completed. This will provide a record when payments are made. No signature may mean you don't get paid!
