Alison Rose’s Chocolate Biscuits (Brake pads)
- 125g unsalted butter
- ½ cup caster sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- Vanilla essence — a few drops
- 1 egg
- 1¼ cups self-raising flour
- ¼ cup cocoa
- ½ cup dark chocolate bits or 125gm dark chocolate (chopped)
Preheat oen to 200°C
Cream butter & sugar (Al says she melts butter first — it is quicker and seems to work the same)
Add vanilla essence and egg — mix well. Mix together flour and cocoa, add to mixture with chocolate.
Teaspoonfuls onto baking tray, bake for 15-20 minutes
We usually make a double quantity as they do not last long.
