"Gumby"

"Gumby" is a "let's see what happens" line array. Obviously inspired by the little green plasticine guy !!

The open back array uses 10 Vifa P11WH   a side in a 3/2/2/3 power tapering arrangement. The tweeter  used is the Peerless 830192    X-O is 2-way series at 2200Hz between mids and tweeter. The array is driven by a pair of rebuilt Dynaco MkIV's which use Svetlana 6550 tubes.

The bass unit is a 200wrms Jaycar Carbon in a 60L hexagonal cabinet tuned to 32Hz and is actively stereo crossed though a simple 12dB x-o at 120Hz, driven by an 175wrms/side PA amp.

Finish is a green under black crackle, shown quite well in the pic of the bass unit.

The whole set-up sounds extremely clean and precise though the mids, the bass can shake the house, and the top end is light and airy. The speaker is very "real / natural" sounding on all instruments and vocals .
