The W.E.A. Ramblers is a special interest group formed within the umbrella organization W.E.A. Clubs Inc. The Ramblers club has been going since 1925. The aims and ideals of the W.E.A. Ramblers Club are to bring together people who are keen walkers and lovers of nature, with special interest in its conservation. Club activities will provide opportunities for relaxation and comradeship. Hiking areas are mainly in the conservation parks within a radius of 30 km of Adelaide, but a few more distant places are occasionally visited.

To qualify for membership, you must be over 16 years of age, be of reasonable fitness, and complete three walks. (A sort of try before you buy option)

Centrally meeting at Light Square, usually departing at 9.00 am , (Our Next Walks page displays details of our next 2 walks) returning about 5.30 p.m. Walking distance is usually around 10 - 16 km, in about 4-5 hours of actual walking time, while the occasional walk of 20 km can occur kookaburraSummer hikes are generally easy and relaxed to suite the weather while in winter on some hikes a chartered coach is hired.

Hikes are held on Sundays, fortnightly throughout the year. In addition, a few summer night hikes and weekend hostel or camping trips are arranged. Programs and information sheets are available on request. Our club is responsible for maintaining Section 8 of the Heysen Trail between Picadilly and Norton Summit. About twice a year we organize a work bee to clear overgrowth, maintain signage, and reroute sections of the trail when needed.
