I've always liked the concept of stretching as a superpower. It's very useful for a range of mundane things, mostly picking things up without having to walk over to them: if I had stretching, I wouldn't be tempted to buy a television with a remote control, now would I? It also makes for a good team player, because you don't have much offence but you do have good range. Thus, when I joined my first Champions campaign, I designed a superhero with stretching: Ribbon. I liked the idea so much, when I joined a second campaign I took the character design with me. In the end, I played Ribbon for the better part of three years:
Looking back on that character design now, there are things I would do differently if I had my time again. I've been running a Champions campaign for just under ten years now, and my grasp of the game system is drastically better. I'd also avoid the mistake of gaining new powers unrelating to her stretching ability during play: in many ways, that ruined the character. So, without further ado, here's two revised versions of Ribbon's character design: when she started out and joined the Guardians in December 1990 and when the campaign ended and she was team leader in December 1993 (sans additional powers mentioned previously). I've used 3rd edition Champions Elemental Controls for both designs, as that's what the campaign's GM used.
