Sheyana of Karicksbridge, Hesard's Daughter

Sheyana was my character in my wife Bronwyn's 3rd edition D&D campaign, and the first 3rd edition D&D character I designed to play. It was an interesting campaign, with a high emphasis on character portrayal, character interaction, and cultural differences. It was also a long-lived campaign, lasting for 70 sessions over two and a half years. Like many other campaigns, the GM wasn't able to maintain the commitment of time and energy required to run a game while working full-time.

Sheyana was one of ten peace envoys in the Elven-Human Peace Initiative, acting to improve relations between the Human kingdom of Amara and the Elven nation of Carialathiara. The Initiative was sponsored by the principal religious organisations of the two realms, the Temple of Pelor and the Church of Corellan Larethian respectively. When the campaign ended, the envoys' principal duties had advanced from protecting traders travelling across the border and fostering increased communication between the various peoples of the two realms to hunting down otherworldly slavers in league with the forces of Evil.

Among the ten envoys, Sheyana played a number of roles. As a Paladin of Pelor, Sheyana was a role model in word and deed for all and sundry. As one of the human envoys, she was de facto a representative of her people, and by extension the kingdom of Amara. This, coupled with Sheyana's open and tolerant nature, made her one of the spokespersons for her team of envoys. She also took responsibility both for the communally owned mule Silver and the communal property Silver carries.
